I know not many care about sport both here and our guests from Dogs (and elsewhere) but it would be nice if you do watch to comment.
I love the Olympics and always have since a young child.
No medals yet but lets face it if Adam Peaty does not win gold it would be the upset of the century so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Same as me Syl. I hate footy but watched all the ones that England played, and shouted
at the telly, mostly for Kane to get bloody scoring goals. Wimbledon I watched it all this year and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Have watched gymnastics and the swimming so far.

Adam should be far more famous than he is - the best swimmer we have ever by light years had and a top tier all time world great.
Can't wait for the race later.
Highlights about the previous day are on BBC1 every night at 7.30pm for those who are interested.

Once you start watching something like the Olympics you definitely get drawn in.
How are you doing Twizzler, are you getting out and about a bit more or has the so called 'Freedom' from most precautions put you off going far?
I have to say, since mask wearing and social distancing is no longer deemed essential (though God knows who thought that was a good idea yet) I have seen more people wearing masks than I did previously.

Just learned the reason the BBC is not showing all sports live (and missing the medals) unlike previous is because the fucking Discovery Channel has bought all the rights and the BBC can only sublet from them and show 2 sports live at a time.
Plus the entire schedule is aimed at a US audience (hence the swimming finals in the morning) and most Americans are not interested anyway (the Atlanta Games is universally regarded as the worst in living history and London the best ever because we are actually interested in sports other than US Football and Baseball).
Money talks.
Rant over!

I am ok thanks Syl. Not been socialising as yet, should of gone out for a meal last Friday, but the restaurant called to say they were
just doing takeout for now as 2 of their staff had tested positive for covid! My niece gets married in December so I will have to
get my act together and make that leap!

The thing about this pandemic is no one really knows what will be happening 5 months down the line.
We could be almost back to normal, or the opposite could be happening.
At least weddings can now go ahead without restrictions, so fingers crossed you will be OK and feeling more confident in mixing.

The women's Norwegian beach handball team have been fined for wearing shorts.
They have been complaining for years about the sexist rule that makes it compulsory for the females to wear skimpy bikini bottoms whilst playing.
Pop star Pink has offered to pay this and future fines....Good for her, and good on the Ladies Norwegian team.
Makes me think that it's a load of old perverts sat on the Olympic committee deciding what the female dress code should be.
Apparently, many women have been put off joining the teams because of the skimpy 'uniform' they have so far had to wear.

Another fantastic start to the day - you will all see it on the news.
As in many things despite the cancel culture that puts us down all the time 24/7 this little Island really is quite remarkable at so many things including sport.
Most as small countries are only good at a few - mind you we did invent them all Colonialism or not (ask India or Pakistan if they would give up Cricket).
200m Freestyle and first time we have got first and second in an Olympic swimming final since 1908.

Tameside's Georgia Taylor-Brown has pulled off not one but two epic comebacks to become a silver medallist at Tokyo 2020.
The triathlete revealed a leg injury almost ruled her out of the Olympics altogether after overcoming a puncture to win silver for Great Britain in a wet women's triathlon.
Taylor-Brown, 27, gave a delighted shrug as she stepped onto the podium - 12 weeks after she was on crutches and having to prove she was fit enough to compete a week before flying out to Japan.
"That was probably more stressful than today, because it could have been taken away from me, but I proved that I was fit, I was ready to go, I did more than they asked me to do," the Olympic medallist said after her win.

I watched it live, it was heartbreaking to see her battle a puncture after being in the lead to fall far behind but her run to overtake all but the winner was simply astonishing - what guts!

She was brilliant. She has been unable to train properly because she suffered a leg injury and has been on crutches up till 12 weeks ago.
