He never intended to call her Consort. He wanted her as queen from the off, which I don't think people want her to be. I don't think this will go down well. It was bad enough queen consort, but that's what our queen chose, so was accepted. I will never see her as queen.

He has insulted the memory of the queen by going against her wishes.
I believe he intended Camilla to be queen from the moment Diana died. I wonder how Diana's sons feel....well, we all know how one of them feels about her, William is more restrained, but it cant be easy seeing the woman who ruined their mothers life being hailed as Queen.
I doubt the majority will accept her, but she will be crowned Queen when he is crowned King next month.

Nobody will ever replace THE queen. She was our most loved monarch. Charles is trying too hard to be woke and right on and it's doomed to failure because he'll be damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. As for Camilla, she's the woman he's always loved and good luck to her. By all accounts she's a lovely person. What's the point in hanging onto the hatred for what happened all those years ago. That's already happened anyway. He's never been that popular, and I think he knows it. I think he'll abdicate in favour of William sooner than people think. Having said that, he's supposed to be incredibly stubborn. I don't think he's good for the monarchy. Anything that was ever good for it, died with Elizabeth. She was the last great monarch.
