Our primary school taught country dancing. I loved the Gay Gordons, fun time!
I had a wart on my hand when I as a kid, I was so self-conscious of it. I hated it when the boy would come up in dance class, and formally ask the girl to dance. He would hold out his hand, and the girl would take his....I thought no lad would want to hold my warty hand.
What sticks in my mind was this one boy, I can even remember his name. My friend told him how embarrassed I was to give my hand, he came over, held out his hand, took mine, and bent down and kissed it.
We were only 11, but I never forgot that.
So Joseph Piggot, if you ever read here....Thank you for being such a kind boy.

I have never been to a school reunion, as far as I know there wasn't one, but I moved out of the area, so there could have been.
I would have been very interested to know how the kids I went to school with fared in life.

Well you know what happens when you stand on cracks or walk under a ladder... kissing a womans hand with a wart on can be worse!
He'll have gone through all these years married to a woman with a large hooked nose and a hairy wart on her chin.

I don’t know anything about the most of the names mentioned so far. But there have been many Dogs people I used have a laugh with back in the day. Right off the top of my head, the 2 I do recall today are Cleopatra and SF (the real one!). They have the kind of bone dry SOH I enjoy, and are/were masters of subtle (but never malicious) sarcasm.
These days, Stu’s place has mostly become a haven for rabid right wing/left wing spam merchants. Just one endless dreary spam-palooza. Whilst I still have a morbid fascination in quietly reading the place, apart from Poca and Avon, I can’t think of anyone there I’d want to post alongside.

Comments like that are uncalled for, and I doubt the vast majority of people would applaud them.
Also, comments said online often get taken completely out of context. I tend to take with a piece of salt what someone said, someone else said years ago.
