There might be truth to that. There are also Arabs serving in the Israeli government..
Israel isn't perfect. Nor is any country
How many rockets per year does that imperfection justify?
I don't justify anyone firing rockets.
After 1000 or so rockets what is a justifiable response?
If your country was hit by rockets, you would crucify Starmer if all he did was write a sternly worded letter to the aggressors.
We were bombed by IRA, but we never bombed them.
I said that a while back Mags, this is one of those arguments that goes round in circles.
Obviously Maddog has his view and we have ours.

Yes, my opinion is that Israel can behave like the US and UK did when attacked by another country.

The exact opposite of what you want Israel to do..

He's going to need that high goodwill in the bank to get him through when the economic pain bites.
He's flooding the fileld (a Steve Bannon tactic I think) to keep his support strong as it gives the illusion of progress, even though he may not be achieving much. He made a big song and dance about mass deportations to begin with, but now? Not so much. He has pivoted towards "arrests" now rather than deportation because the reality is a mass deportation programme was always going to be very difficult to achieve, and I suspect he knew that.
The man is not to be trusted.

The man is not to be trusted - EVER. Which makes a whole lot of sense, given that he’s a 6-times bankrupt, serial scammer & money launderer, who routinely stiffed contractors on bills due (even driving them to suicide in at least a couple of cases). Plus, he’s undeniably a convicted felon, and he always will be.
And he’s now the Imbecile-in-Chief, playing at being president by sitting at the Resolute Desk, just signing endless random shit with a flourish, while he poses, preens and spews his imbecilic, subliterate stream of consciousness and lies in front of submissive reporters at the Oval Office pressers.
Meanwhile, the Ketamine King who bought 47 the protection against spending the rest of his miserable life in a jail cell, continues to indiscriminately and illegally sledgehammer his way through government departments and agencies (especially prioritising all the agencies investigating him!). Thereby allowing knowledge, apolitical, decades-long expertise and experience to circle the drain.
How could any of that speedily and effectively be replaced? And who the hell would now be attracted to a career in public service, when there’s the risk that their job could very suddenly be terminated every four years?
The only silver lining to any of this is that even the MAGA cult of halfwits and cousin-humpers are gonna start feeling the ‘pain’ too pretty soon. Unless they’re in the demographic you’ve mentioned, Avon, or they happen to be millionaires and billionaires, of course. So, $10 for a dozen eggs? No prob for them.

I don't disagree with that..
I'm just pointing out that he's still fairly popular.
Part of that is down to the low bar set by the opposition. Most of these people speaking are members of congress.

He's doing what he said he was going to do and that is going to go down well, but only for so long.
What amazes me is how bad European leaders are at responding to him when his MO hasn't changed since his first term. Trump is an excellent negotiator but his tactics are obvious. Put out a bold statement, see what leaders respond to and therefore their weak points and exploit that. It seems to work without fail. When playing a card game you wouldn't reveal your hand right? However, our politicians don't seem to be able to figure that out.
I'm watching the US closely as what happens with you guys tells me where the UK will go. If you have falling interest rates, sticky inflation but rapidly accelerating asset price growth middle class and working class families are going to get hammered.
Increasingly it doesn't look like left v right anymore rather than billionaires and their useful idiots v everyone else. I think the billionaires will likely win. Seems like the "you will own nothing and be happy people" were right all along.

It's looking more and more like Trumps plan all along was to crash the economy.
The little people will suffer very badly but the billionaires will become ever richer.
Trump has a few billionaires riding this out with him.
Was there three in view at his inauguration and now one sits in the white house with him.
Get ready for a very desperate ride if this is what is about to unfold and the evidence is certainly pointing that way.

There's been many presidents who were convicted of law breaking, cheating etc. Do we honestly believe that honesty and integrity rules the people who rule us? Our own politicians are a bunch of lying feckless morons. And I suspect the Kennedy's were rotten to the core, and Marilyn Monroe didn't die of natural causes. If we knew the half of what goes on, we'd live in a state of abject fear. But....if the job gets done that's the price you pay.
All the stink from the screaming lefties regarding negotiations with Putin? Funny how they don't think the same about appeasements and negotiations with Hamas when they're all out flag waving and screaming for 'Peace'.

You get a mixed bag with Trump so I find it difficult to be either for or against him. I'm more for or against his individual actions.
He's done some good stuff since he came back, but also some dumb stuff as well. Being a non-American, it's easier to cherry pick than be all in one way of the other.
Identity politics is in the decline in the US, I believe their public in general has had enough of that woke/inclusion/diversity shite, and Trump is the obvious person to start cutting the cancer out.
He will be heavy handed in some areas though and leave some ugly scars, but that's the price to be paid for what went on before.
If I were a Republican, ideally I'd keep Trump for a year or so to make the neccesary changes, then have him replaced by someone more 'Trump lite' to continue them. Obviously that won't happen unless he resigns or croaks. But waiting for the next US election before he goes (at the earliest) might be too much time to put up with his heavy handiness.
