The second ICE shooting in Minnesota looks more like an execution to me.
It's definitely not good. And the reaction by the administration is making it worse..
People who understood how the first shooting happened are not understanding this one.
It's obvious he was disarmed when he was shot. He also clearly never reached for his weapon.
There is some discussion that the agent discharged a round while pulling the gun from the victims holster which isn't unusual in that model of gun. That would explain what seems like a slight pause after the first shot..But that's just speculation..
I watched a video on Twitter, presuming it's not been AI altered, it really did look like an execution.
It does look like one. They had moved him out of thr road and they should have left him at that point..

I agree. And was the gun actually his? It looked like he had a phone in one hand and the other hand was free.

There's another photo where it looks more like a detonator than a phone or gun. I don't understand why these people charge fully armed into situations where the police officers are armed and think it's not going to end in tears.

Now they know what the ICE agents are capable of, with full backing of the government, I agree.
It doesn't make it less of an execution though.

You seem to be going with the White House version of events. But BBC Verify has analysed the footage frame by frame and here's what they say.
Now they know what the ICE agents are capable of, with full backing of the government, I agree. It doesn't make it less of an execution though.
If we saw this incident play out on the streets of Iran or Russia we would say it clearly shows the State executing a citizen for protesting using a para-military force.
Does the Trump administration want American citizens to die? No.
Have they been criminally negligent in flooding Minneapolis with poorly trained and equipped ICE agents who are clearly out of their depth to impose a reign of fear over a Blue state to pander to their base, dressed up as immigration enforcement? Yes.

Those were actually Border Patrol agents.
They are under the same department though..
It still looks like an execution because the gun was removed from his holster before the first shot.
I also think either the victims gun discharged while being unholstered, or the CBP dude with his gun already drawn fired his by mistake.
Either way, and the initial shot would lead to multiple people firing.
If you listen. There is a shot followed by a pause, then all hell breaks loose with about 9 more from multiple people..Still absolutely unacceptable because the guy was never a threat and once he was moved out of the street he was a non issue.
This is going to get nasty. Trump doesn't want to lose face. Tim Walz (the governor and VP candidate) has decided he's not running for governor..It would be nice if he could try to get the folks to calm down and stay out of the way of federal law enforcement.. I dont think that's going to happen because they have the Feds on the ropes and martyrs are very powerful and useful tools.
Look how the folks in Gaza have used martyrs to sway public opinion.
I believe it was Rham Emanuel who said "never let a tragedy go to waste".

I know the authorities are bare faced lying on camera about what happened...not good for anyone when the actual event is flashed around the world.

Yeah, and they are sorta walking back some comments.
It also looks like Trump is changing gears there..
I think (this is just an informed guess) he might pull everything he can from Minnesota and just call them a failed shithole and refrain from sending anything there in terms of money and support.
Simply tell them they can allow all of the illegal immigrants they want, but they won't be supported by the US taxpayer..
Kind of a twist on what Texas did with illegal immigrants. We sent them to "sanctuary cities" up north..

Trump's response: Pretti shouldn't have been carrying a weapon (ironic that, coming from a proponent of the right to bear arms), and that his administration would 'de-escalate a little bit'. Nothing of course about investigating or potentially charging the shooter, who one has to wonder might never have to face justice.

In that state it's legal to carry weapons, so Trumps response is ridiculous.
The whole gun laws in America are ridiculous though, but that's another debate.

It's one thing to carry a weapon legally and another to go wading into a ruck in the middle of armed officers. it's like playing with fireworks but you soak yourself in petrol first.

A lot of people carry at protests. You are correct that it probably puts you at more risk.
These aren't really protests though, but a counter insurgency. It's not happenstance that these federal agents are surrounded as soon as they move in Minneapolis
The counter insurgency uses license plate readers to find federal agents. They use the signal app to communicate and direct large groups towards the agents when they stop and try to arrest someone.
You have to be vetted and vouched for to be a member of the insurgency. It's been mentioned that they think the Lt Governor is on this chat,, but it's hard to know as it's encrypted..
If the Feds want to succeed, they need to run decoys out into the countryside and pull these people out if the city on wild goose chases.
US and UK forces ran into something similar in Iraq. Networks of people who's only job was to communicate where troops were heading so others could intercept and obstruct..
Removing illegal immigrants in any country is very difficult because it requires force and there is always a significant number of people that will fight that force.

The attitude to carrying guns in America is ridiculous, it's asking for trouble, which is why death by guns is so high there.
But he still wasn't breaking the law. And contrary to what was broadcast, he was not being aggressive towards the ICE or border control agents. He seemed to be trying to help a woman up who had been knocked over, he backed away, they got him down, and what followed is obvious.

Yes so they already knew he was capable of violence. I'm not saying that shooting him was the right thing to do but shit happens if you antagonise armed response officers in a very violent unpredictable moment.
Here's another nasty loony.
A Virginia nurse who encouraged medical professionals to drug ICE agents with paralytic meds was swiftly canned. Malinda Cook, a nurse anesthetist at Virginia Commonwealth University Health, was fired by the hospital on Tuesday after she spewed the disturbing remarks in a spate of TikTok videos. Cook, who was identified by local media, blasted out her so-called “sabotage” tactics as anti-ICE riots exploded across the country.

On the day he was shot, he was not breaking the law, he was demonstrating, which is his right. Twitter posters tend to bend the truth to suit their own agenda.
