I've had Macaroni Cheese the last two nights, my Stomach still isn't back to normal and my pudding supper out the chip shop on Sunday hasn't helped.
It was scrumptious at the time though.

I think the best oil for frying is coconut oil and if you get quality extra virgin it's great for roast tatties in fact roast anything but a bit to pricey for a chip pan. High smoke point. No it doesn't taste of coconut.
Don't own a chip pan, Jack.
Most of my food like the tattie slices are done in the oven.
I'm trying to get my dad to eat better and cut down on his smoking but he's stubborn and says I'm nearly 84'
One of the best things I ever did, stopping smoking.
I wont say I never eat white potatoes, but only when i dont have a choice.
I stay away from things with a high glycemic load. Focus on good protein, lots of fiber, healthy fats, and avoid high glycemic load food as it spikes insulin. That's the problem with processed foods and the western and especially the American diet.
We arent fat because our genetics changed. Our food did.
I drink extra virgin olive oil daily.

I don't drink it, but I cook with it unless it's something at a.high temperature then I use avocado oil because of it's higher smoke point..
Stew meat, onions, golden beets, turnips covered in olive oil and spices, then finished with some spinach and feta cheese.
If that's all your handiwork Maddog, you would make someone a good wife.

I’d hire him to fill my fridge & freezer! Or pay good cash money for his seemingly faff-free recipes.
I can sense my Italian Mamma frowning down on me from above whenever I admit - I TRULY effing hate cooking!

I don't really have recipes.
I read some, then just wing it.
Because of the Mediterranean look of this, I'm using lamb next time I make it..

This wasn't bad. Shrimp, scallops and maybe some other aquatic life, with mushrooms and spinach. Served with heart of palm pasta, olive oil and garlic..
Apparently the stuff on the left is called 'girls dinner' now. It's basically eating small amounts of whatever you can find. I didn't know that until last week.
For a few months now
my breakfast has consisted of a swig of EVOO (don't worry I have a separate bottle)
and a heaped teaspoon of peanut butter.
I had a bit of a belly appearing... swollen looking.
It's almost flat now... nearly gone!
I don't get the urge to eat again for around 8 to 10 hours
and then I have around a cupful of Bombay mix.
Couple of hours later my evening meal.
Just had a chicken curry with recooked rice.
Might have a large serving of full fat live yoghurt
sliced root ginger handful of blueberries handful of nuts three dates
some cardamom some coriander powder.
Three times a day a cayenne pepper capsule plenty of green tea and or water through the day.
Last thing before bed a hot brew of grated stem ginger cloves more coriander powder
and the juice of half a lemon.
Sticking to this quite well because it's easy to stick to and enjoyable...
I live to a hundred at this rate!

Out of curiosity, how many were you cooking for that night?

I don't know about the meat, buy a lot of Americans will say the bread treats them differently across the pond. Some folks think the wheat is grown and handled differently. 🤷
