Well true. But the mascots aren't wearing pads and aren't hitting any harder than kids that age would be hitting each other.
Think about it, they are wearing fluffy costumes for the most part. It's like me wacking a kid with a pillow..

A 13 or 14 stone adult pushing, scragging and falling on top of a 7 stone kid is going to hurt....even if he is wearing a fluffy costume.

I dont like insects, but I make an exception with ladybirds.
A few weeks ago I noticed odd little creepy crawlies in the garden....striped, like tiny alligators. There were literally hundreds of them, crawling round the fences, plants and walls. I googled them, saw they were ladybirds before fully formed, and the article said it was a stroke of luck to have these in the garden because they loved to eat greenfly.
Well so far, we have had no greenfly, and we now have absolutley loads of ladybirds flying or crawling around, they even land on us all the time, and for once, I am not screaming when a bug lands on me.
It must be the summer of the ladybird, because some years we hardly see any.

Forget “cheeking her elders” etc for a second…watch a 3 year old being given “time out” in kindergarten and her response. It’s not just her verbal prowess but her physical reactions too
