Three failed asylum seekers who arrived in the UK on small boats have appeared in court charged with gang raping a woman on Brighton beach.
Two Egyptians and an Iranian Kurdish man are accused of dragging the 33-year-old woman onto the stone beach before subjecting her to a horrific ordeal.
The three migrants appeared at Lewes Crown Court in East Sussex today where a trial date was set for next year.
Egyptians Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, and Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, were living in a Home Office-run migrant hotel in Sussex when the woman was attacked.
Alshafe is accused of attacking the woman the day after his asylum claim was rejected. Iranian Kurd Abdulla Ahmadi, 25, was living at an address in Crewe.
All three men appeared in the dock today wearing grey tracksuits. John Livingstone, prosecuting, told the court: 'This is a high profile, very serious case.'
The woman said she was attacked in the early hours of Saturday, October 4 after being at a nightclub in Brighton.
It's disgusting, and still they pour in and Starmer does nothing!

“ Nearly 50,000 illegal migrants removed or deported since the election. “
” Of the 35,000 returns recorded by July 2025 since the July 2024 election, Home Office data shows roughly 26,000 were voluntary (including assisted schemes) and 9,000 enforced, per official breakdowns. Enforced returns encompass both compelled removals (often forceful) and voluntary exits from detention, but voluntary types dominate overall—around 74%. The latest 15,000 to hit nearly 50,000 likely follow suit, though full granular stats await quarterly release; enforced numbers have risen 20-30% year-on-year. “ https://x.com/grok/status/1989050325010141320

” In the latest financial year, the DWP spent £9,596,163 on translation/interpretation services for claiming benefits - stats I’ve had to drag out from the department.
In June 2025, there were 1.26m foreign nationals claiming Universal Credit, having soared from 883,000 in 2022. It’s costing us a billion a month.
Universal Credit spend for refugee households has jumped from £726 million in 2023, to £1.1 billion in 2024 - hundreds of millions spent on giving illegal migrants benefits. Think about that. Think about what that money could do for British communities all around the country.
Just so everyone is clear - we know a vast number of foreigners and illegal migrants are living on benefits, contributing sod all. Costing a fortune. But not just that, we’re paying for their translation so they can access the money.
The Government, if you excuse my language, is taking the absolute piss.
The solution to this is straightforward.
Deport every illegal migrant, and anyone who entered the country illegally - regardless of current status.
If a foreigner is living on benefits, then they need to go home too. This would mean an enormous number of legal migrants also leaving the country.
Our welfare system should be there to support British citizens in genuine need.
Not act as a magnet to the third world so endless streams of conmen can sit on their backside at the taxpayer’s expense. No. I am sick of it.
Reeves and Starmer have done a massive U turn on putting up income tax!
"The prime minister and chancellor have spent weeks laying the groundwork to make the manifesto-breaking announcement on 26 November, but won't go ahead with it amid fears it would further anger Labour MPs and voters."
They are doing it for one reason only - to try and save their own skins. She has caused turmoil in the markets, affecting amongst other things, employment and house sales. All the reasons they have been giving for the 'difficult choices' in the budget, have mysteriously disappeared overnight - and they are now dressing it up by saying how important it is that they stick to their manifesto promises LoL
They say it has 'absolutely nothing to do with' the rumours about Starmers leadership challenge, and are putting their own careers ahead of national interest - disgraceful!

I hope Andy Burnham, (who has gone quiet of late re the rumours of his bid for leadership) is quietly working behind the scenes to make it happen.
Like it or not, Labour is in power for the next few years, and he would do a damn sight better job than Starmer, he would also, hopefully, surround himself with people who are more able and less bent.

Not only translators for claiming benefits, the NHS use them for people who are obviously newly arrived all the time.
Odd how people who are bred and born here die waiting for hospital appointments, yet some just sail in and get them.

I’ve got into the habit of keeping a chain on also and always checking through my door spy hole after an elderly neighbour got robbed a few years back. I now don’t open the door to anyone I don’t know and/or not expecting - a horrible way to live but it is what it is.

So let me get this straight. The Labour government is NOT putting up income tax as promised in their manifesto, and this is somehow a failing. The Government are sticking to their manifesto. This is news?
Treasury sources said the economy has improved and so Reeves doesn't have to raise taxes.. Reeves has never directly stated she will put up.income tax. But there is no way blind programmes should have to pay, the reduction is almost an insult too. As for the intimidation tactics when people don't pay on time...I agree with Syl, what if some OAP's simply can't pay it in this day and age? Letters like that would frighten more isolated older people. Again poor show BBC. A more reasonable correspondence introducing a more staggered method of lower payment for OAP 's or those on lower incomes would be the way forward. But I doubt it will ever happen.

It will be the Green Party(Zack Polanski) in coalition with Your Party (Jeremy Corbyn) who will run the country after the next election.
The Green Party is currently second to Reform in the polls but Your Party isn't being founded until the end of the month at conference but polling in Starmers seat puts then 10 points in the lead and to be reflected in many other constituencies.
Zack Polanski and Your Party want to work together and have already said as much.
If your look at Ireland and the new Socialist President there and what has happened in New York with the Muslim Socialist Mayor there the writing is on the wall!
They are lowering the voting age here in the UK to 16 at the next election which will favour the Left Wing.
Wait and see at the next May elections!
The future is Socialist!

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is due to announce 'major changes' to asylum policy tomorrow. It still won't be enough, but will be a step in the right direction and an improvement on anything the previous HS, wet lettuce Yvette Cooper, managed to come up with.
Apparently it's going to be based on the Danish system, which is one of the toughest in Europe (they just had their lowest number of asylum applications for 40 years).
I imagine there will be some kind of woke backlash - members of her own party are already calling the changes as being racist, the SNP say they are 'outrageous', the Greens say they are 'scapegoating very vulnerable people'. The Lib Dems don't like the 'uncomfortable language' associated with the changes, and the Refugee Council say the changes have "have echoes of a hostile environment", and said it's not "a decent British thing to do"
So it sounds quite promising, but let's see what she comes up with.

A rarity - a Labour MP who comes across as being a normal, decent bloke!
Clive Lewis, MP for Norwich has said he would give up his seat so Andy Burnham can challenge for PM. Burnham needs to be an MP before he can throw his hat into the ring. It would mean moving from Manchester to Norwich though, which he might not be so keen on.
Lewis believes in country before party, and party before personal ambition, whereas the likes of Starmer, Reeves and co clearly believe in personal ambition before both party and country.
Lewiis says that Starmers position as PM is untenable, and he is offering a way out to the British public.

If Lewis did stand down, Burnham would have to win the seat before he could challenge Starmer, and that's if he got the backing of other Labour MP's, but I don't think he would have to move to Norwich.

I don't think there would be much danger of Burnham not winning the seat seeing as half of Labour voters want Starmer gone. He would probably get voters from other parties voting for him as well. It would be a massively high profile by-election, and if Burnham somehow did lose, he will lose all credibility and damage his career as well. So an element of risk, but a very small one imo. If he wants to throw down a challenge to become PM, it's the first step to win a by-election and become an MP, so he has to fight a seat somewhere
Most MPs have a home or second home in their constituencies due to having to spend time there, although I don't think it's a legal requirement, so you are probably right in that he might not have to move there full time, but he would be representing the people of Norwich, and I think they would prefer their local MP to be living locally, rather than on the other side of the country. So maybe still based in Manchester but with a pied-à-terre in Norwich will do.
I don't know anything about Clive Lewis either, but I like him based on that single interview alone.
