Talk was a few weeks ago that there would be a couple of MP's who may step down and make way for Andy to have his shot. Since then it's all gone quiet.
Burnham answers listeners questions live on local radio, every week he is in the hot seat...he is very open, and imo genuine. He has not ruled out standing again as an MP, he says changes have to me made.
I sense this is the quiet before the storm.

Andy was talking live on GMR this morning, and obviously asked again if he would consider stepping forwards in a bid to become leader.
He won't commit either way. Just points out he is not presently an MP and he can't predict the future.
He is very committed to Manchester and the North, so I think even if he did put his hat in the ring, it would be a big upheaval for him to give his position as Greater Manchester Mayor up.

Thing is Syl, he's still Labour. We want Labour out!

I would vote for him, and like it or not Mags, Labour is in power for the next 4 years.

I'm not so sure Syl. Starmer will be gone before Xmas hopefully, then Labour will fizzle.out.

An Afghan national has admitted raping a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton.
Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, appeared along with co-defendant Mohammad Kabir, also aged 23.
At that same hearing, Kabir, also of no fixed abode, denied attempting to take a child, aiding and abetting rape of a child under 13, and intentional strangulation of the girl.
Look what the dumb fuck has gone and done now - just a few days after the Chinese spying on us was all over the news, Starmer is expected to approve plans for China's controversial new London 'super embassy' to go ahead.
Many people have warned that this is likely to be China's European hub for espionage, and it's location close to London's finanancial district, and close proximity to fibre optic cables that carry vast amounts of sensitive information, has given further cause for alarm.
Many of the rooms in the plans have been greyed out, ie we don't know what they will used for, but some are saying they could be holding cells (or worse) for anti-China protestors, and due to diplomatic inviolability, the police will not be allowed on the premises if something dodgy is suspected to be going on.
Meanwhile, China has so far refused permission for a new UK embassy in Beijing.

Don’t tell me, they didn’t know it was against the law.
Prison isn’t enough.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is due to announce 'major changes' to asylum policy tomorrow. It still won't be enough, but will be a step in the right direction and an improvement on anything the previous HS, wet lettuce Yvette Cooper, managed to come up with.
Apparently it's going to be based on the Danish system, which is one of the toughest in Europe (they just had their lowest number of asylum applications for 40 years).
I imagine there will be some kind of woke backlash - members of her own party are already calling the changes as being racist, the SNP say they are 'outrageous', the Greens say they are 'scapegoating very vulnerable people'. The Lib Dems don't like the 'uncomfortable language' associated with the changes, and the Refugee Council say the changes have "have echoes of a hostile environment", and said it's not "a decent British thing to do"
So it sounds quite promising, but let's see what she comes up with.
They are not vulnerable, they are just invading our country for money. Hope this work's.
She should say all those who want them must house them!
I guess it depends which way you choose to look at it...

They have no need of our help
So do not tell me
These haggard faces could belong to you or I
Should life have dealt a different hand
We need to see them for who they really are
Chancers and scroungers
Layabouts and loungers
With bombs up their sleeves
Cut-throats and thieves
They are not
Welcome here
We should make them
Go back to where they came from
They cannot
Share our food
Share our homes
Share our countries
Instead let us
Build a wall to keep them out
It is not okay to say
These are people just like us
A place should only belong to those who are born there
Do not be so stupid to think that
The world can be looked at another way

Does the UK have a scale for when you start receiving them?
Here, we can wait longer to start and the amount is higher.
If I wait until 70, my monthly check will be bigger.
In any event, every country in the West is facing the same challenges. An aging population and high levels of debt..

I don’t know how the system runs in the UK, MD.
The reduction does seem harsh though, and some pensioners on a strictly limited income are really going to be affected by a reduction of around £35 per week.
The timing couldn’t be worse either - mid-winter, and just before Christmas. I can only hope there’ll be some flexibility available, depending on people’s individual needs.

If they had to do a u-turn on the OAP one-off annual winter fuel allowance of a couple of hundred £ I can’t see this being bona fide. The oldies would string Starmer up by his undies and dangle him from Big Ben.

@ Red & Guest…. If it‘s fake news, then I very happily apologise.
I was looking something up on Google earlier, and the article was featured on the Google App’s homepage among other news stories. It‘s still showing on there this evening.
When I first saw it, I admit I was surprised no one here was posting about it. I’m really glad it’s a spoof article, but can you imagine the potential shock and distress it could cause to any pensioners who might get taken in by it too?
It‘s like Diggs says in another thread, who the hell can tell what’s real anymore?! 👇🏻👇🏻

"A 13-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 50s was found dead.
Police said the teenager was detained following an incident in Baydon Close, Moredon, Swindon, on Friday evening.
Officers responded to reports of disorder inside a house, and when they arrived, a woman in her 50s living at the address was found to be not breathing. There were no other reported injuries."

I know, I couldn't understand this. It sounds unreal, 13 yr old.
Maybe her daughter or granddaughter stabbed her? Just guessing though. 🤔

I'm sick of them coming here and raping young girls, dirty feckers! Deport them after their sentence, but Starmer won't do that, he loves them! 😠
