Alternatively, if me or Digger spoke to members like dirt, we would also expect to be treated with zero respect. It's how forums (and life) often works.
Exactly. I respond as I'm treated.
I don't care what people believe. I'm toleratant of all sorts of opinions. I'm not tolerant of all sorts of facts..
But if you want to be nasty as hell simply because of a difference of opinion, I can go down that path with people.
I've never felt the need for any of that on this forum..
I thought you went back there to be irritating, that's what you once said you like doing. Seems it's backfired and you've now become a victim of online abuse.

Let's compromise and call it confrontational.

Rollup posts about his back problems and the resident Jobsworth replies about getting a full tank of petrol...someone make that make sense. smh.
I haven’t been keeping up with Dogs much so having a quiet day today decided to have a read. the persona known as Stooo seems be quite the expert at everything from cooking, health/exercise expert to being knowledgable about trans bumpf because he took up some type of S&H position that no one else wanted. This bloke just delivers parcels doesn’t he?
His posts are like something from a personal diary - I had a tuna butty for lunch…it rained today…going to the car wash later… jeez, I thought my life was boring at times but blimey he’d peel back wallpaper.
I can’t believe the drivel on that site, where have all the decent posters gone? You could at least, at one time, have a few funny posters scattered about but now…

There are people in comas with a more exciting life than Stoo.
And, yes he's the most knowledgeable package delivery person on the planet..🙄

I’m following his nonsensical comments in the trans thread and that of his side-kick. Beggars belief.

Okay…True Confession time.
I caved and just did a Guest post over the road. Probably my 3rd or 4th Guest post since my ban in early 2020 (a couple of those were to wish folks I remember from there a Merry Xmas, and one to say how saddened I was by the news of Aziz’s death).
BUT reading the effluence of jaw-dropping, uninformed, undiluted Grade A bullshit being posted in the US News section is what made me cave in and add some comments of my own.
I regret it now :ohmygod: Hopefully, the mods won’t approve the post and that’ll be that.

Well considering most of them read here, I guess even if your post isn't approved over there, they will see your post on here.

… my post was approved, and there’s been a couple of reactions. So to round things off, I’d say….
@Maddog - As an American national, you’re in a far better position to comment on US politics than most of the rest of us looking in from around the world. And so I’ll always defer to you on that. But to be clear, that’s the only thing I will defer to you on.
@Holly - take your asinine ‘post a proper link’ demand, shove it snugly up in a sunless place, and go royally fuck yourself luv

Ever heard the saying ‘Don’t start none, won’t be none.’?
When it comes to forums, I’ve learned it’s a saying to try and live by. These days, who can be arsed to get into trying to play proverbial chess with a bunch of proverbial pigeons?

I don't expect people to defer to my opinion.
Just don't expect me to defer to someone's own version of the facts..
I'm very upfront and forthright about what is happening.
Your reaction to what is happening is yours and I'll respect that..

TY for that - & for the apology
You‘re an American with a hell of a lot of opinions, most of which are well-sourced and credible. So I kinda see you as a ‘boots on the ground‘ type, whose views I’ll always read.
MD, I know the undisguised contempt you have for both of the mainstream parties. I get why. But I guess it all boils down to a couple of questions I’d like to ask you….America has survived crappy presidents before, so - even in a worst case scenario - is it safe to assume that it could survive a Harris presidency? And how do you think America would get through a second trump term (with practically a free pass, courtesy of SCOTUS‘ immunity ruling)?

You almost certainly checked out the IP and knew it was me, and couldn’t resist getting arsey. As per fucking usual.
Reading your puerile drivel over there, it’s good to know Meghan Markle can now rest easy. You’ve found someone else to so obsessively spew your bile and hatred on.
And I’m assuming you’re among the pig-ignorant dicks that pretend to have a problem pronouncing ‘Kamala’ correctly. If so, no prob! Hopefully, come January, even you should be able to pronounce POTUS (not ‘Madam President’, because I know that will stick in your craw).

… ps … I see you’ve edited your original demand, to dilute the ‘arsey’
And no, ta - I’ll pass. 4 posts in 4 years over there is about my limit. Mostly cos I’ve always been made very welcome here and I’m not a prolific spammer anyway. Also because I really can’t stand the inherent meanness and spite I see in you.

We will survive a Harris presidency.
Trump would be more problematic in terms of restraint. He is power hungry and definitely a narcissist..
But the SCOTUS ruling won't give any president free reign. It protects them from prosecution.
The courts can and do stop presidential excesses.
Ideally, Harris wins and the Republicans control congress.
That ties everyone's hands..

To the detriment of the American people, MD, because eff all will get done.
That’s counterproductive, no? Especially given the current GOP House majority in your 118th congress has been lambasted all over the place as being the least productive in living memory.
