"nursery rhymes such as Baa Baa Black Sheep should be avoided as they are 'steeped in white culture'."
and not suprisingly....
Called 'how to raise anti-racist children' the guidance was drawn up in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests for Barbie manufacturers Mattel and has since been shared by local councils in England.
The document, co authored by a BBC education consultant, tells parents it will help them 'raise a new generation of allies with the tools needed to facilitate change'.

A man was killed on Halloween night in Edinburgh.
Listen to this...
Police Scotland said in a statement "we can confirm the death of a 74 year old man who's severed head was found in a Edinburgh street last night"

if someone took ill or had an accident, people helped them.
Now most get their phones out and elbow each other out the way to get the best view.
I collapsed in the supermarket once, thank fuck it was before phones.
It was bad enough it happening in front of those in the shop, let alone folk online watching later.

People who turn the other way when someone needs help (sadly, in my experience at least the majority do) make me sick.
I think in France it's illegal not to offer help if someone needs it.

Do France not have something called the good citizens law?
I can't understand how someone could not help a person who was in distress or injured.
It never used to be like this.

Yes, and translated into English it would mean..
"Whoever could prevent, by their immediate action, and with no risk for themselves or others, either a crime or a mister-meaner against the physical integrity of another person and who voluntarily does not intervene can be punished by up to 5 years imprisonment and 75 000 euros in fines. Any person who voluntarily does not help a person in danger, with no risk to themselves or others, either by their own individual action or by provoking the required help, will be punished equally. This law can be invoked if the following criteria are met and can be proved : It must be about physical danger to a person The person at fault is fully aware of the danger It is possible for them to react / do something (eg: intervene themselves or call for help) The action presents no danger for themselves or anybody else."

November 1960 - Ruby Bridges holds tightly to her mother’s hand as she enters into an angry mob to check into school each day. Ruby’s mom, Lucille Bridges made sure her daughter knew she was safe and was like a shield in every respect by her little girl’s side as she set out to change a nation.

It was a long time ago, but not.
Pretty sure she is still alive. She (all of us old fuckers really) have seen some incredible change in that department

I loved Huckleberry Finn and his Friends when I was wee, the one with Ian Tracey and Sam Snyders.
I always thought Bernie Coulson who played Sid was cute and he came into my mind yesterday and I googled him.
I was reading about a murder in America that had taken place in 2006.
The victim had spent the day at his 88 years old mother's house and his mum's wish was she would live long enough to see his killer convicted.
The case was unsolved until last year when his wife was finally found guilty and his mother was there to see it at 103 years old.
The wife has been murdered now, by her cell mate.
The cell mate was a nutcase who thought the woman was cleaning the toilet with her toothbrush so killed her.
Karma!
Really. Big money in juice!
League Cup Semi-Final here this weekend...
If my lads Rangers win and the other mob win...we will have an Old Firm final.
That fills me with doom due to the way we're playing.
😞
I've done that before with Boing... or should I say Boeing!
Anyone for a game of monopoly?
