"A killer who fatally attacked a father in a Sainsbury's supermarket after a row over queue jumping has been jailed for just five years.
Demiesh Williams, 30, was today sentenced to five years and three months in prison following the death of Andrew Clark, who was hailed as a 'hard-working family man'.
The 43-year-old victim died from his injuries after Williams struck him with an open palm following an argument at a supermarket in Beckenham, south-east London - with chilling footage showing him strolling back into the store to carry out the assault.
Woolwich Crown Court heard Mr Clark had challenged the defendant when he tried to queue jump at the tills.
Bus driver Williams then left the shop and went to a car but, as seen on CCTV, decided to go back and confront Mr Clark.
The court was told the attacker then slapped his victim with an open hand, causing him to fall to the ground.
Mr Clark died three days later of his injuries, after being declared brain dead.
Williams later pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was jailed this morning."

'You will serve up o two thirds of that sentence in prison thereafter you will be released subject to licence conditions. If you breach your licence conditions you will be recalled to prison."
Is that all the man's life is worth? Be out in 2 years. Bloody disgusting. If a white man did that to him he would see a much higher prison sentence. Not justice!!
Hopefully, if enough are disgusted then a sentence review will be done - it's happened with other cases. This sounds premeditated to me as he walked away and then returned.
His wife witnessing it all, is too horrible for words.

"Mr Clark's 14-year-old daughter previously told Williams that though he would one day walk free, he had 'destroyed' her family in the 'cruellest way possible'.
In a statement read to the court by her aunt, she said: 'My dad was not just my dad. He was my best friend. We did everything together.'
She addressed the killer, saying: 'You did this to my dad. My dad was the most generous man I know. I don't want to live my life without him."

Far worse is if the daily fear of it happening IMO...never knowing a minute's peace whilst jailed.
Chances are they'll either be housed with like-minded savages or segregated from the general population. Whatever, they will never get the punishment they fully deserve, either in prison or when released.

Hmmm, I don't think it's correct to say the average Brit family can't afford to feed their kids or turn their heating on....at least I don't know anyone like that.
It's true that energy prices and food prices have rocketed, but many people's wages are higher than they were, plus so many on benefits get so much free.
I think the average Brit family who work and don't claim benefits may be feeling the pinch, but hardly starving.

If the numbers are correct, and if it's down to the working people, especially the high earners, paying the majority of everyone else's taxes, I think the problem has to lie with all the people claiming benefits and not contributing....which is what most people who work/have worked all their lives have been saying for a long time.
According to recent figures 23% of the working age population here claim benefits including Universal credit and housing benefits.

A woman was seen running along the street covered in blood amid a crowbar rampage in a hospital waiting room in which five people were injured.
A 20-year-old Afghan man allegedly launched the attack after he was refused an appointment, and was arrested at the scene at Newton Community Hospital in Newton-Le-Willows, Merseyside.

Merseyside Police confirmed they were scrambled to Newton Community Hospital just after midday on Tuesday.
The harrowing incident started when a man, who is originally from Afghanistan, arrived at the hospital to request an appointment.
When his demand was denied he became increasingly agitated and attacked several people with a weapon - believed to be a crowbar.
