"A dramatic vintage fur or faux-fur coat, Pendleton patterned wool jackets, fringe layers, or bold winter outerwear. This layer does the visual heavy lifting while adding serious insulation."

What do you think good "felt" cowboy hats are made out of?

Beaver. I guess there are hats made from rabbit, but I've never owned one. And I doubt they would be waterproof
Cheap hats are made from wool, which is a little more animal friendly I guess. The sheep aren't killed until their wool production or quality goes way down.
I don't know who eats older, wool producing sheep. Maybe they make it into dog food? 🤷

Mutton used to be a cheap staple in the UK. You can still buy it in certain halal stores but I won't eat halal meat.

I've heard of people eating it, I've just never seen it in stores. Sorta like goats, there are wool producers and meat producers. I don't think an older, wool producing animal would be very tasty, regardless of how it is killed.
I go out for Mediterranean a few times a week, so I imagine I'm eating a ton of meat that is halal..
