And yet here you are, hanging around the outskirts like a mouldy old corpse.
I’m always hanging around & checking in here several times a day too!
That's not a problem, people can read as much as they like in the open bit, they can make comments too, as you often do, and you are welcome to do so.
It's the ones who hang around and only make snide little remarks about the forum and the posters, never actually contributing to a thread.

I’m always aware you guys have to approve guest posts, so I do try not to overstay my welcome
I remember being bopped from Dogs back in February 2020. The reason I remember is that was when the COVID shit hit the fan and I was stuck abroad for months. That’s when I started dipping my toes in here. Can’t believe it’s been nearly 5 years! Thanks

You are welcome.
One drawback is there is only Digger and myself here, sometimes the posts, like the memberships, have to wait till they are approved.

Stu is looking for a forum that would let him host a little guest thread for his thoughts. He’s a crowd pleaser could be a good idea for this place

“You need to join you silly person..😉”
@Maddog….when I first started posting here back in 2020, a couple of very weird shitposts appeared on the board, which freaked me out a little. That caused me to hesitate ever since. I’d gladly tell Syl and Diggs what I saw privately, but I guess I can’t do that unless I joinCatch 22, I guess.
It‘s no biggie though. I always read much more than I post anyway.

Well, weird shit posts are the norm for many of our guests and you'll see them whether you're a member or not..😉

In one of his posts he said it'd be sometime next month, but it looks like he's shut it down now. I thought he'd give an actual date, apparently not though.

I saw his cryptic 2-word post (‘Goodnight all x’) a couple of days ago, which seemed to have no context nor or was it in response to anything anyone had posted.
That was the moment I figured his Sleeping Dogs were about to euthanised.

He’s too busy painting the town red with the £14 savings he’ll have made shutting shop, either that or he’s knee deep in holiday brochures…gotta spend those mega savings somehow.

I wasn't around as long as many were; even though he gave a warning, I think seeing it closed will come as a bit of a shock to a few people - it seemed like an almost permanent institution. Fifteen years of interactions and memories now gone.

Hi everyone,
Looks like Dog's closed for good, and although I knew it would happen, I had no idea it would happen today
So I hope Admin doesn't mind me posting a quick goodbye here to all Dog members including former, since I didn't get the chance to do it on Dogs anymore, and since some members also post or read here.
And who knows, some might even join here.
First of all, thanks to all members and guests who kept Dogs going for 15 years, but especially to the posters who interacted with me nicely and civil.
It's been a long 14 years me moderating Dogs, and although it wasn't always smooth sailing, overall I enjoyed doing it.
Yes, sometimes it was a bit tough and mentally exhausting, to a point where I asked myself why I'm doing it, but it became a habit that was somewhat hard to break.
With some of you I have communicated for many years and somehow got to know you beyond your username.
No doubt the odd name will pop into my head ever so often for a long time to come, and will probably make me smile.
I hope you all will have a happy and healthy life, and good luck with what ever comes your way.
We might even meet up here again in the future.
Take care you all
Holly xx

He should have given it to Holly she's devoted her life to it for a long time.....I'm sure posters would have preferred that to him just pulling the plug...Anyway it will be back the first time he gets drunk and melancholy

Holly - it was poor form on stoo's part not to let you know he was switching it off yesterday. Especially after the years of service you gave him.
With no more Dogs, people, especially guest posters, might try to find their way over here. It all depends on how many know of this place - but going by the number of views this thread has had, perhaps quite a lot do.

Well.
That was unceremonious.
Probably best that way. Everyone that could say what they wanted had plenty of opportunity..
