Hi everyone,
Looks like Dog's closed for good, and although I knew it would happen, I had no idea it would happen today
So I hope Admin doesn't mind me posting a quick goodbye here to all Dog members including former, since I didn't get the chance to do it on Dogs anymore, and since some members also post or read here.
And who knows, some might even join here.
First of all, thanks to all members and guests who kept Dogs going for 15 years, but especially to the posters who interacted with me nicely and civil.
It's been a long 14 years me moderating Dogs, and although it wasn't always smooth sailing, overall I enjoyed doing it.
Yes, sometimes it was a bit tough and mentally exhausting, to a point where I asked myself why I'm doing it, but it became a habit that was somewhat hard to break.
With some of you I have communicated for many years and somehow got to know you beyond your username.
No doubt the odd name will pop into my head ever so often for a long time to come, and will probably make me smile.
I hope you all will have a happy and healthy life, and good luck with what ever comes your way.
We might even meet up here again in the future.
Take care you all

That was unceremonious.
Probably best that way. Everyone that could say what they wanted had plenty of opportunity..
It would have been better with an actual date Madders.
Say your cheerios etc, if they don't know about here, they might have no way of passing on contact details

Yeah, after more reflection I think you are right.
I think Stoo couldn't handle a drawn out affair. He just woke up today and decided today was the day. Pulled the plug and walked out the door to work..

Seems like it, he should have at least told Holly what he was doing.

As odd as it sounds, because we are talking about a forum, I think Stoo would have lost his nerve if he had a drawn out affair.
This was the end of a relationship (the forum, not a relationship with Holly), and some people can't properly end them so they ghost people.

I just noticed it says 'Goodbye' on the banner. A date would've been good the persona known as Stooo

Holly - it was poor form on stoo's part not to let you know he was switching it off yesterday. Especially after the years of service you gave him.
With no more Dogs, people, especially guest posters, might try to find their way over here. It all depends on how many know of this place - but going by the number of views this thread has had, perhaps quite a lot do.
He was never going to say when as it’s a way of keeping control over people.
He can’t do that in real life as he lives alone in a cheap rented 1 bed flat. you reap what you sow. A 60 year old failure.
