This is a great little place to post….away from the frenetic - often batshit - pace of most massive social media platforms.
I much prefer smaller forums / communities than big SM platforms myself. I read stuff on Twitter but have never felt the urge to post. It's more like attention seeking than having an actual discussion.
Much nicer vibe in a place like this.
So do I :nods: I have never been one for Facebook or other social.media platforms. Digital Spy was an.. experience I just like to talk about ideas and debate and forums may seem old fashioned to some but I like the vibe of them too.
I was on DS for years and liked many of the posters. Closing “General Discussion“ and the eventual erratic moderation put the lid on it for me.

They closed General Discussion? That wasn't wise , a lot of people posted there. That was where all the gossiping went on and cliques were formed from what I remember, it was a bit like Dogs with a more respectable veneer.
The mods were mad and definitely played favourites. It was great to chat about Big Brother back in the day although some fans of housemates got a little..heated.
I used to like Wonkey Donkey although she tended to write essays , when she wanted to put someone in their place she did it in detail with admirable punctuation!

won what? Bestest and most thriving forum evah? Silly sod.
It was he who used to go on a lot about forum wars. He encouraged them, then later on made a big deal about not wanting them, so in his mind, the silly logo must mean in his opinion, he won the forum wars.

He opened it briefly and said posters would return "organically" Except they won't if you are a forum owner determined to hold grudges you were at least half to blame for. He obviously misses the forum so why did he push all his posters away? His forum's dead.
Well, if he calls that winning he needs to aim higher..!

I asked him to write a memoire but he wasn't interested on his and those around him experiences of the internet chat rooms (or whatever one wants to call it): growth, peak years, decline.
I was on digital spy, the moderation became overbearing (woke left etc), then someone mentioned dogs where "they talk about people on digital spy" - so one could air ones frustration about the moderation on Digital Spy on Dogs.
Then from Dogs I heard about this site - but there was no direct mention of this site - but I was able to find it from clues left.
Then here one could air ones frustration about Dogs moderation etc. However it seemed everything stopped here - I mean there wasn't another site where one could talk about the chaos - but vague mention was found on Dogs.
I remember a few people on Digital Spy and on Dogs - there was one guy who said he had built clones of various sites and was thinking of creating a site as an alternative to Dogs - but he never seemed to. I think his avatar name was Jason. Anyway that was several years ago. A lot of internet history now seemingly lost. I also remember someone else called "text" I think and she was on some other "news site" that may or may not have closed down.

Desperately trying to name-drop people you have hounded in the past isn't what this forum is about.
So either stop, or this thread will be closed....it's way past it's sell date anyway.

Close the thread. I am not Dean. I have always responded in good faith. It is always the same with you. Blinded by your own prejudice. Please put up a sign that nobody with an IP address from the Birmingham area must post comments because everybody from Birmingham is Dean. I cannot speak to you. Only Digger and the others. Please let me talk to Digger.

The only person who mentioned Dean, is Dean.
