Trump is now telling Russia to get in line. I didn't think for one moment that it was a simple as pandering to Putin. He's got summat up his sleeve and some long game. I wonder how it'll pan out?
I don't believe he is pandering to Putin, I do think he is happy to share the riches of the land that Russia have taken from Ukraine.
I think he is as capable of stabbing Putin in the back as he is of stabbing Zelenskyy...or any other countries leaders if it advances his own world standing.
I really think he has his own plan and playing one against the other.
(imo)… the only 2 people trump would never dare to cross: Putin and Musk.
I don't believe Trump gives a shit about either of them or anyone else.
Maybe so, Diggs. In most cases, you’d be right.
But like most sociopathic bullies, he’s a snivelling chickenshit coward at his core. And he knows fine well that Putin and Musk are probably the only 2 people that could decimate him - Musk for sure. And I don’t necessarily mean physically harm him, btw. Again, jmo…
Trump is a vindictive person. He'd probably help Satan defeat Zelensky.

As for why he is throwing Z under the bus? He wants the war to end so he can claim credit.
And he hates Zelensky over the whole Hunter Biden deal.
Yeah, I’m with you on the petty revenge thing re Zelenskyy. That old SOB clings to a grudge like an infestation of leeches with lockjaw.
So are you saying 47 would demand the nuclear codes, rather than risk the devastating kompromat being revealed?

I'm just saying you are confusing pro Putin ideology with anti Zelensky.
Different scenario, but Churchill wasn't pro Stalin but anti Hitler..

I see Trump is wanging on about how rich and prosperous America is going to be, but conveniently doesn't give an expected timeline.
Perhaps he could level with the American people and say if they were struggling last year they will struggle even more this year, and to cut sending as much as possible to save cash for an emergency fund.
Getting sick and losing your job in the current economic conditions in America sounds like the stuff of nightmares.

He has finally admitted his policies may cause a recession. While I get why he never said that during the campaign, once elected he should have said that we are staring at some tough times.
The problem with politics and a poorly informed populous is that if any party or person suggests there is pain and sacrifice involved in a policy designed to correct past mistakes, the opposing side attacks them with a plan that involves no pain. And the problem gets kicked down the road.
You saw this recently with cuts to heating allowances by Starmer. People only accept more subsidies, never less, and any party trying to make cuts will be attacked and possibly lose power.

The cronyism continues - Trump now using his platform trying to boost Tesla sales (despite previously wanting to limit electric car sales).
"radical left lunatics" are "trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla" in an effort "to attack and do harm to Elon".

I think many people will tolerate some pain if they ultimately believe things will get better. However, it feels like many people don't have much wiggle room when it comes to their finances so how long they can cope without going under is another matter.
It looks like most people are expecting a recession and are withholding spending as a result, which seems sensible.
Let's hope it's all worth it in the end because otherwise you will have a lot of disillusioned and potentially very angry people to deal with.

Not a recession coming but the collapse of the American economy.
The collapse of American influence.
The collapse into chaos of America.
The American nightmare is upon us.
No one trusts America or respects it any longer.
Contracts are moving away from America regarding imports exports all ports.
If Trump dies tomorrow or he changes his mind on just about anything and everything... it's to late.
To late because everything has and is moving on and away from America.
It's to late to undo any of it now.
America is alone.
I suspect America will probably invade south America so it will at least have a pacific empire it can rely upon and lose after a very short tenure.
Welcome to the growing global chaos... thanks America.
Warships will soon be gathering in The Gulf of Mar a Lago.

The US isn't going to invade South America.
You are seeing a US reminiscent of the 1930s where we were more isolationist.
Any collapse of out country will be the result of our debt, not foreign or trade policy..
Trump is clinically unwell and only a few years younger than frail Biden. It could be dementia or calculated but this man is an agent of chaos. He is creating tariffs that is making America far worse off. It's madness.

All that could be true..
Do you have some recent data that indicates how we are worse off?
Unemployment?
Interest rates?
Inflation rates (came out today BTW)
Stock Market?
Nation debt?

I've often wondered if he has a mental disorder, on the lines of bipolar/BPD/narcissism etc, as his behaviour is OTT.

He's a narcissist.
He's also a real estate investor who's used to tactics not considered diplomatic.
What you saw with Zelensky in public was not that unusual for a high stakes real estate deal.
He also has absolutely no regard for whether he is liked. A lot of folks say that, but he really means it.
He likely gets off on you hating him or being shocked by him..

Where to start? Stocks are down, American taxpayers are footing the bill for all the tariffs, tourism down especially in Canada who are taking all american goods off their shelves. Trump is making his own country pay more for products 4 no good reason citing "he wants to win the financial war against the EU". Do u get told the truth about how bad things are or just that u have always been at war with Oceania?

Saw a really interesting infographic on what is driving US inflation over the last 12 months.
Looks like things like gas and groceries are stabilising and goods like electronics and appliances are becoming cheaper. On the flip side rent / housing , medical costs, medications and energy cots are still rising. Car insurance has gone up significantly.
The US economy is brutal. Don't get sick or lose your job or you may end up homeless. On the other hand if you hold cash you can make out like a bandit in the next few years. That Warren Buffet knows a thing or two...
