It's when I had the farm on Anglesey. A neighbour farmer somehow ran over the dog got a big heavy chain wrapped around his body and was still driving unaware of the screaming dog. When he stopped the dog was in one of my yards gasping and crying out with his insides including some bits of broken ribs sticking out of his mouth. No vet could have saved this broken mess and no vet could get there to stop the suffering and I could not stand there helpless watching such suffering so I took matters into my own hands. I feel tearful describing it!
Bloody hell. How horrific. I'd have been in bits. But you did the right thing, and kudos to you for having the guts to do so. My ex was a policeman and he and a female colleague ran over a cat one night in the police car. They stopped but the poor thing was half squashed and squalling. He had to kill it with his truncheon...fuck knows what that must have looked like to a passer by. These days it'd be all over Twitter.

Oh God, that's so upsetting.
You did the right thing, I couldn't even kill a pigeon a few weeks ago when it was obviously dying. I just covered it up so the cats wouldn't get it and let it die in peace.
I didn't have the nerve to kill it quickly.

When living on Anglesey my daughter 8 at the time stopped talking to me for a couple of days because I killed a frog.
There's a small village on Anglesey called Bodafon and I had to use the phone box.
Old fashioned red one.
When I finished the door seemed to be stuck on something so I pushed it hard and discovered there was a huge frog now squashed with a broken back.
It must have come partly under the door while I was in there and the big heavy door being pushed broke its back.
What a oitiful site it was it couldn't move .... couldn't get it's feet to connect with the floor.
I went to the car and quietly told wife what had happened and I was going to kill it and move it out of sight of people.
I dropped a large rock on it and cleared up the mess.
Back at the car wife asks if I'm ok and I nod whilst wiping my hands on a some baby wipes.
Daughter has heard me earlier say kill and then seen me dropping a boulder on something so I explain as gently as possible ... I couldn't leave the poor thing like that ..... why didn't you take it to AnE and on this conversation went.
She didn't speak to me for a couple of days except in Welsh .... couple of times she would be walking away and mutter .... Mochyn Saesneg.
I just let it go and we laughed about it since .... I don't think that was till she had kids of her own though

I've just seen this.
Holly would not leave her dog to suffer and if the pooch was in need of the emergency vet then Holly would take the dog to the vets.
I can mind a few years ago the dog collapsed and Holls rushed the dog to the vets in a taxi and paid £400 for an emergency operation.
Then there was the time her parrot wasn't well and she had to take him to the vets everyday for a fortnight and that wasn't cheap either.
Holly is a responsible pet owner.
Now this will be my one and only comment on this.
