How come we keep up with all the American stars yet you don't know who Elton John, who has been a top writer, performer and showman for decades is?
It's not an age thing either.....his music is as relevant today as it was back in the 70's..
Have you heard of the Beatles yet?
I've heard of him woman. Simmer down. :hicap:
I like a few of his songs. Not enough to buy tickets to his show or anything.
Most of the stuff I listen to is from folks that live within a few hundred miles of me, except for Corb Lund.
He's one of those English Light fellas from Alberta.
Now he, I've paid to see before.
Definitely not Elton John. Some of the girls I know seem to like his dimples. I've never noticed.

Speaking of local, she was in High School the same time as my middle daughter, across town.
She has moved on from Arlington, TX though.
Well, so have me and all my daughters.

Does this count as not Elton John?
This is my future ex girlfriend singing one of his songs.
On a side note, she was the only person to high five a Royal (Harry) in public. She may still hold that dubious honor.
Texans don't do protocol well.

Not a local girl, but one my favorite songwriters.
This is the song me and my middle daughter danced to at her wedding.
It's a slow waltz, and that's not my best dance, nor hers but we fumbled through it and made it look presentable.

This guy lives down in Wimberly, TX. Been following him for years. This is his latest release. Drummer looks familiar. Can't quite place him. Maybe y'all recognize him?

About 5 years ago, Leon was waiting tables about a mile from where I live now. He still lives a few miles from here and can be seen around town all the time. Still very personable and friendly in spite of being Grammy winner.

Lol...it's a great video of it's time, pity the girls don't have much sense of timing, but I bet you didn't notice that either.

How strange!
The US music moguls told Queen to change the video and they all said bugger off and it effectively finished them in America for many years which was simply pathetic as it was sheer genius.
This superb solo cover by the great man means such a lot to me (for personal reasons that I will not divulge on here lol).
The sheer talent of these two was awesome, may they both sing forever.
Before massacres by NRI gun nuts was so very common and defended by an orange lunatic.

Dude, it's a music video thread.
There have been no massacres by NRA members and the orange lunatic has passed more gun control than Obama.

I take your point but the only reason Obama could not get sweeping gun reforms into law was because he was blocked at every turn by the Republicans - I remember the poor bloke in tears of frustration over the Sandy Hook massacre.

Anyway back to the thread.
This was groundbreaking for the time.
What a legend!
I love that /\ haven't seen it for ages.
