When the resignation did not come by 4pm, I said that to my partner. He was not in a life or death situation where he, his wife, 4 yr old had to drive 260 miles plus in a very, very confined space. If some does recall seeing him his family at a service station they won't have proof now as its weeks after the even.
Boris evaded every question. Cummings said he could not care less what others though as he really believes he has done nothing wrong when millions of people wanted to go and see their uncle, aunt, grandparents, parents, children who may have been suffering medically, met. This new rule about holidays and 14 days stuck in your home, flat, etc - you could use your instinct as the PM put it and feel to are going to go made if you stayed in any longer and go out - there are many ways to interperate anyhting and the cream being "gut instinct" as that of that scruffy man.
He said he couldn't care less because he believed doing the right thing was more important. Meaning the right thing for his Child.
And I agree. Why wouldn't anyone agree. He was preempting a situation that could have occurred. He was putting himself in a situation where if need be someone he trusted could look after his Child. This is the crux of it. This is a problem why? There has always been caveats within the rules for these types of situations. I knew this all along! For example these caveats have been spoken about in daily briefings in the past. And all the fine details of the rules have always been available on GOV.UK. How can you sack a guy who was essentially focusing solely on his Child's welfare.
And let's face it many people just want any excuse to get rid of Cummings. They have hated him for a long time. A lot of it is to do with his part in Brexit. For many people their uproar over this situation isn't so much driven by the truth or facts of the situation, it's driven by hate.. their long running hate for Cummings.

Did this father not have help in London? If thy have no relatives or friends in London maybe a nanny,??certainly some kind of hired help who could have looked after the child whilst he and his wife were infected.

Traveling and going inside a Hospital to see someone is obviously quite different. Don't know about a nanny or anything. I'm sure not everyone in the limelight has one. People tend to only want specific people caring for their child.
I stand by my reasoning in my previous post. I honestly see it that way. But hey, I fully understand that many will see it differently.

The arrogance of both Boris and Dom's has no boundaries and no respect for those that have and are obeying the rules and not playing around with the rules or making them up as you go along. I was certain Dom's would go yesterday and now I'm not sure unless their is new evidence. How can it be sensible to drive more than 260 miles with a child in a cinfined sapce and did Dom's get Covid becuse he was in the car for 5 hours with his wife?

I defy anyone to honestly admit they'd leave a spouse to be ill when they have a child. He's made a career mistake, but the media witch hunt is way out of proportion to the crime. Very true. People will largely do what they want no matter what high profile people do or don't do! I've seen people visiting others all through this lockdown sitting in a family members Garden. People blatantly getting close to me in the Supermarkets.
I would also say the same, regardless of who it was and what part of the Political establishment they came from. WHEN a Child's care is the crux of the matter. Cummings certainly has more valid excuses and reasons for doing what he did than the Scottish MO or the Scientist had.
Most of this just goes back to some people always having it in for Cumming's, his involvement in getting Brexit over the line and all of that. He's going to make statement and answer media questions. I hope he makes the media look the inept bias fools that the majority of them are. I think there's a fair chance of that.

He drove the several miles to the hospital and back to pick up his wife and kid - that too broke the rules as a taxi should have been used and when the wife and kid went to the hospital or ambulance. DC was also suffering from covid at the time - so we have two concrete breaches of the rules by the very man that made millions obey them and being told by ministers daily to obey them. Every day we get a covid news brief but not once did they tell people about "gut instincts.!
DC talks about the only regret he has was not making a statement earlier - really! - He thought he could get away with it and told the press to f-off and two fingers at the public in in own words and waving of the hands.
