I am going to watch the famous 'Speech' episode of The IT Crowd right now on Dailymotion as a big 'Fuck You' to the extremist trans lobby whose complaints got it removed forever from All4 in October.
I wondered why it was missing from the repeats on 4Music and now I know.
Orwell's 1984 is becoming ever more real and soon all past comedy will be banned because someone somewhere is 'offended' about something which does not conform to the woke thought police's narrow fascist agenda.

Not really but I did go to Eric's a lot and see punk bands and I was really into the punk music scene. I never went the whole hog with the safety pins and clothing. However, I was one of the first to wear drainpipes and stilletoes when everyone else was wearing flares. I went through a Brian Ferry phase and used to strut around in pencil skirts, veiled pillbox hats and fox furs. Those seamed stockings were a fucking nightmare to keep straight.
Of course, I'd never wear fur now. Back in the late 70's nobody knew any better.

I never did hippy. Bit before my time. I was a teenager when Marc Bolan and Slade were big. I don't do roughing it either....camping, music festivals, communal toilets, not washing for days..no thanks.

I like this kind of glamour. I tended to gravitate to this look when I was much younger. I used to love the Wheels and Dollbaby clothing. And I love this vid.
You know I watch this and wonder why some women loathe this kind of femininity. I loved and still love being feminine. I'm sure most blokes would prefer to see more women with this look. All you seem to see now is leggings and increasing obesity in young people. So sad.

40's and 50's glamour, probably our parents era. i was a teen in the 60's, mini skirts and bouffant hairdo's. But when I first left home at 17 I sort of went down the hippy route then, only in look though, certainly not in lifestyle.
I have never been to a mud bogged festival in my life thank you very much (shudder)
I found a bit of glamour later on....maybe late 20's, I still go for a bit of sparkle, dangly earrings, and Chanel No 5 when I go out....whenever that may be again.

My boyfriend at that time bought it for me. It was one of those stoles with the paws and tail and head with little beady eyes!!!!! I'd rather die than wear fur now.

I grew up in a house where the lights used to go on and off on their own and some unseen woman sobbed on the stairs. The house was large, Victorian and detached. One night when I was babysitting for my mum, I heard something jumping on and off the bed in one of the bedrooms. I ran up to check the kids (I had two brothers at the time) and they were both asleep. I stood outside the bedroom listening to that 'thing' running around and jumping on and off the bed. It was large and heavy and I ran downstairs, let the dogs in and sat up til my mum came home. It absolutely terrified me. I was only 14 at the time. It was only years later that my mum told me that all sorts of weird shit went down in that house.

It had to be you to rise to that....and before you type a response....dont bother, I am one step ahead.
Mags, we stick to the old traditions, OH still does the first footing with an old lump of coal, and we always leave the decorations up till 12th night.
