I always thought you had to be 21 or older to buy booze in the US. Here it's 18 in bars, clubs etc ...to purchase in a shop it's 20.
We have some daft 2 for 1 offers, usually in clubs. But I think the European holiday isles are the most irresponsible. Happy hours that go on all night, free drinks for females, to attract the men in, then they wonder why fights start.
I honestly don't know whether my generation, my sons generation, or now my grandsons generation drank the most.....I was a teen in the swinging 60's, and I think we take some beating.
Now you have to be 21.
Thanks to me and my friends. 😉

This has gone viral on TikTok apparently - of course if she had retaliated the bear would have been shot by the authorities.
Pushing a huge adult wild predator with her cubs for God's sake - talk about wilful stupidity.

People don't think when it comes to protecting their pets.
Personally, I think the dogs had it under control.

Drinking out and about is far more regulated now. I see scenes from the bars closing in the UK and that stuff rarely happens here anymore. You can't serve obviously intoxicated people and bartenders can be held criminally liable if they overserve and it leads to someone killing someone in a car. I think it's a shitty law, but it is what is.
I have seen two Brits cut off before. They couldn't understand the concept because they weren't driving. Even with Uber so common now, being overserved in many places won't happen.
Doesn't mean people don't get shitfaced at someone's house.

There were a few ocassions when I worked in clubs where we would refuse to serve someone who had had enough. We would call a cab for them, then made sure they got in it.
There are laws in the UK that actually make it illegal for bar staff to serve drunks, they can be fined.
Though If it was enforced I doubt there would be any bar staff left working.

Blimey.
She was stupid, but she was thinking of her dogs not the possible consequences.

Yup, when you or something you care about is attacked, the flee or fight syndrome kicks in. Whether you're a mama bear or a pet owner.

Like she said, she didn't think, she acted on instinct.
People have died for their pets, some have drowned trying to get their dogs out of dangerous waters....I doubt whether they ponder about it first, they act before they think, just as you would do if it was your child in danger.

At least the incident ended happily for all concerned.

I would do the same if I had a pet and it was threatened.
Now you have to be 21.
