And it's not really government profiting. It's the private enterprizes profiting from the government giving them blank checks, amd then government officials leaving government to enjoy the profits themselves as they guide more money to their new employers.
A government 32 trillion in debt isn't profiting at all, but aiding and abetting a gigantic fraud..
I get that.
But governments are made up of people, and those people have shares in these massive companies that supply the world with whatever is needed....
No doubt politicians can profit a little too, but that's different than government per se.
Politicians are bankrupting the government to curry favor and guarantee future earnings.
When Eisenhower left office in 1960 his farewell speech mentioned the military industrial complex.
It was about the use of the taxpayer money to remain in power by funneling it to defense contractors and other industries. Big Pharma being one of the biggest now.
In my o;d age I have come to the conclusion that our, yours, and probably every government is corrupt.
As are the banks and the huge companies that run the countries.
Just as an aside...have you seen the little known film 'Bank of Dave'? it's based on a true story, set in a little Yorkshire town not far from here, and proves how taxpayers money is used to keep the powerful in power.

Documents obtained by the civil liberties group Big Brother Watch, and shared exclusively with this newspaper, exposed the work of Government cells such as the Counter Disinformation Unit, based in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, and the Rapid Response Unit in the Cabinet Office.
YouTube says it violates their policy.
Weird..🤷♂️

77th Brigade in the pandemic
I read about that.
It's almost Orwellian.
If we have views that are outside the desired narrative we are monitored.
Discussing political issues probably comes with some risk now.
Democracy?
