When Queen Elizabeth died, I think many people lost interest. The pampered royals are outdated.
Even when or if king Charles does stand aside, I doubt William and Kate can save the monarchy for beyond a decade or so, not in it's present format.
Time will tell.

I still want a Monarchy not a President of Dictator. He is slimming it right down. Camilla should not be queen though, but it's her right as she's married to the king unfortunately 😞I do wonder if this will start the rot now. I lost interest when our lovely queen died tbh.

It isn't really her right, she will be crowned Queen because that's what Charles wants for her.
Pince Philip was married to the Queen...he was never awarded the title of King.

That wasn't anything to do with the Queen though.  She wanted him to be King but the courtiers are like...that's a big fat no.  Same as the moronic rules about Charles having to marry a virgin.

I wonder if Diana was checked ? It wouldn't surprise me.
How times have changed over the last 40 years.

I don't think she needed checking as if y do a little digging you discover she's more royal than many of the established royals.
She certainly wasn't an outsider to this history.

I meant checked to see if she was still virginal.
Old fashioned and very inaccurate, but it did happen back then.

If the sovereign is a woman !old out queen, her husband cannot be King, as this would put him above her. Marry a king, the woman automatically becomes queen, as her right. Our queen wanted her known as queen consort, but they are dropping the consort.

I bet that doesn't count nowadays...giving preference to the man. Obviously it did when the late Queen was crowned.

It's not her right, wrong spelling, it's a rite.
It still counts I'm sure.

Camilla only wanted to be princess consort. And she also never wanted to be known as the Princess of Wales out of respect for Diana.  This is why she's known as the Duchess of Cornwall.
The difference between a queen consort and a queen is that a queen consort does not have the same political power. The queen consort is not a ruler in her own right, unlike the Queen, and her monarchical title only comes from her husband. So technically, she is queen consort, but can be referred to as Queen Camilla or her Majesty, just like the queen mother and Queen Mary. Both were queen consorts.

The respect she showed her while she was shagging her husband for decades?

Diana and Charles were not really together for decades though were they.  The marriage was on the rocks long before that and Diana was shagging more men you could shake a hat at. They were married in 1982 and by 1986 they were both having affairs. The woman is dead and gone.  Are Charles and Camilla supposed to suffer over this for the rest of their lives? Â

Charles had his mistress before, during and after his marriage.
Diana was used....any woman with a backbone would have found happiness elsewhere, not just sat around waiting for her unfaithful husband to spare time for her.
No one expects Charles and Camilla to suffer.
That isn't the point under discussion.

A lot of people won't let go of those past events.  Camilla's name is still shite after all these years.
