I didn't watch it as I was out, got in to see the votes. I don't know who that woman was either. I like Graham Norton, he didn't look happy presenting, he does a good job normally, he makes me laugh.

I only ever watched it once before and that was when Abba won.
They deserved it too as they stood out way above the opposition. Stood out as very different. Turned out to be the ultimate pop band.
So I was tempted into watching it this year simply because it was in Liverpool a city I really like a city I visit fairly often.
I've loved the huge street festivals they have last two I remember being fifty years of Yellow Submarine and the Mathew street festival.
On these occasions the city centre roads are closed off and stages erected all over the place with bands playing.
The Yellow submarine party had Beatles bands around every corner from a myriad of countries absolutely brilliant.
Also kinks bands and more.
The streets were packed and rocking with beer being served through open pub windows and the smell of weed in many places wafting about.
The police waved a few fingers and told people not to do it in their faces and they'd be left alone push your luck and you'd be nicked. I don't think anyone was. They were weeding out the drunks as they cause the problems for everyone else.
Manchester would not have handled it so well.
So a city renowned for music production and street parties for years... handled the production of the European sing song exceptionally well I thought but sadly it was way to modern for this old fart.
It seemed to be more about high tech visuals than singers or bands or even music.
That typical top of the pops style camera work where the images flashed from one to another before I could see anything for any decent length of time flash bang wallop and apparently the winner had won once before. Never heard of her.
The Germans deserved to lose absolutely dreadful and some blokes in their nickers who for some reason reminded me of the YMCA song while a guy in a pink suit did something unmemorable.
I don't know how I watched it till the end but I did.
I'll be another forty years before I do that again... oh I forgot I'll be dead by then.

I do like Eurovision, though I let it run for an hour or so before I begin to watch it, then fast forward through some of the awful songs.
Liverpool did a great job in hosting for the Ukraine...good for them.
I do think Manchester could have done it well too. We have a good history of music, and dont forget, we handled the Commonwealth Games brilliantly 20 years ago.
I thought the winner was rubbish, (fixed?) Estonia and France were good

It’s always a bloody fix! Lasts way too long these days, too.

That's when the ff function comes in handy....just don't watch it all live.

Yes I'm sure they could have as well but I was referring to Manchester and law enforcement not handling massive music festivals in the streets in the way Liverpool have and do.

I read it was fixed in Sweden's favour because it will be fifty years next year since Abba won it and they want to have a good old knees up in Sweden!!
Eurovision and our most successful act!!

How did Sweden fix it? Did they bribe the judges in other countries to vote for them?

Judges are fixed. How do you think Ukraine won last year, then we could hold the event. They did the same when we were waiting for points, it was given to another country. Back then it was a fact it was fixed. Years ago.

I think the Ukraine got the support of everyone last year because of the invasion....it was good they won imo.
It has been the case for years, since more and more countries entered, that the majority vote for their friends, neighbours and allies....it has little to do with the actual songs. Obviously, the UK don't have that many friends.
There was an exception last year...the UK entry was that good it couldn't be ignored....this year it was back to crap.

Yes Ukraine won because of the war, it was political, so fixed imo. I don't mind, they deserved it after having their country torn apart.I
I liked our song this year, but it was badly performed sadly.
