I think the BE did a lot of good, but also a lot of not so good. And as for America...well...look what they did to the Native Americans. So much for Equality and Freedom.

I agree we did a hell of a lot wrong but by the standards of the time and compared to others (like the horrors of the Belgium Congo) our Empire certainly not the utterly evil world destroying force it is now often portrayed as.
I just thought it was rather interesting to see a different perspective from the one shoved down our throats all the time.
This is an excellent summary and also has the added advantage of giving me a good laugh reading the incandescent fury and ignorance (masking their fear) of the Creationist morons in the comments section.

I've said this before over on dogs. It was European settlers and mainly British one's who wiped out the Native Americans. Lord Amherst wanted to exterminate the indians by giving them small-pox infected blankets taken from dead bodies of British soldiers at fort Pitt in 1763.
Then you had all the Europeans arriving in Ellis Island NYC and heading west to claim land, Indian land. Very few were second or third generation Americans. That's Hollywood cowboy films

At no point did anyone intervene, no matter their nationality. So that makes everyone in America culpable at that time. And using this argument, we can safely say that slavery originated with the natives of Africa? Didn't they round up their own for the slavers?

Exactly and as I say by the standards of the time the British Empire was far more progressive than most.
Benin's kings sold off slaves for centuries (as did other West African nations) - that's never mentioned in the current woke narrative however.

Just reflecting again upon the so called career of 'Mother' Teresa - truly one of the most evil people in recent history but somehow Catholic propaganda and the media has fooled the world otherwise.
Thank God (lol) the fanatical bitch is not alive now - just how many thousands of Covid deaths would she revel in?
The most successful confidence trickster of the 20 and 21st century.
Hitchens had her spot on - if only she could go to an afterlife of her own making - and burn.
RIP, Chris.
But morons will worship their false Idols.
Nothing ever changes.
Shame.

Funnily enough just been reading through the various sources about what she did to people - she really was an ice cold and sadistic psychopath.
Probably par for the course in the Catholic Church for their anointed 'saints'.
Religion again.
Lovely.

The LOD finale got the highest viewing figures of the 21st century, consolidated at 15.24 million!
When you consider soaps now just get a couple of million viewers that's truly remarkable.
Spoiler
Shame the fourth man turned out to be Buckles though.

Well, since we spend about .00000001% of our lives in the water, that makes sense.
Brits are not very likely to be bitten by a venomous snake.
