In other words, like despotic madmen who came before him, he is a law unto himself?
That’s undeniably the plan, imo.
See, he’s riding high on the king-making ‘Immunity’ ruling awarded to him by his people at the Supreme Court. He now truly believes he can do whatever TF he wants, and no one can/will stop him.

Most presidents do this to a degree. They push until the courts shut them down..
Trump is just extra belligerent and determined..😉

Maybe it’s me, but your posts often seem to reflect an underlying admiration of him that you stop just short of admitting. Agreeing with how that despotic psycho rolls would be your prerogative, of course.
But for the self-proclaimed ‘Libertarian’ you often say you are, I find it a bit puzzling.

That's a first!
I have been saying all along him and Musk and their other billionaire friends are crashing the economy on purpose to enrich themselves at everyone else's expense.
Here's a guy who agrees.
Problem is Musk and Trump have gone about it in such a wildly public political way that the entire world has turned against America and America are going to find that all those trade agreements won't65 be coming back to America.
Sure they'll achieve enriching themselves but the country will be a smouldering crushed mess that probably won't recover.
They don't understand subtle.

Musk has lost about 140 billion in 6 weeks.
They are literally burning his cars. Tesla may not survive this. The super wealthy don't make money in government. They operate more in the shadows like a Soros or Koch..
And it's never been my MO to use a bunch of adjectives to describe people. Their actions, yes.
I'm not going to get apocalyptic over Trump and call him Hitler, a madman or whatever. I will question why he does what he does..

If you watched the video you might get past that rubbish economics you were told at uni.
You know how it took you years of denial and argument to understand what it truly meant

People differ in the way they express themselves. How you express your opinions doesn’t make you any better or worse than anyone else - it‘s just down your individual style.
But how can you question “why he does what he does”, without calling his character into question too? You called him “belligerent and determined” earlier. Those are adjectives, last I checked.

Those adjectives sorta define actions though.
I'm not saying his character is something I admire either..
Look at what's important to me. Cutting spending. Ending foreign entanglement. Stopping the woke nonsense and politics of identity.
He's doing much of that.
I also acknowledge his actions are way too authoritarian too. But the alternative to him (Chase was never going to win) would have been far worse for the things that matter to me.

Fair enough, Dawg. I can see what you’re saying and why you’re saying it.
I‘m sure you could come up with a few names, but to a non-American like me, there IS no alternative. The Dems are in a hopeless state right now. Their messaging is pitiful in the face of trump’s media dominance, and there just doesn’t seem to be anyone to inspire and galvanise Americans - especially this far away from the next election cycle.
(that’s assuming free and fair elections aren’t a thing of the past in America)

Just adding this to Jack’s post…
“” Black Saturday…The Moment Democracy Ceased to Function
For the first time in modern American history, a sitting president openly defied a direct federal court order—and nothing happened. No intervention. No enforcement. No consequences. A legal ruling was issued, and the White House simply ignored it.
And a presidency that can ignore the courts without consequence is no longer constrained by law—it is an untouchable executive.
This moment did not happen in isolation. It happened because every prior attempt to hold Trump accountable has failed. The system tried—and at every turn, it proved incapable of stopping him.
The judiciary was already weakened by years of erosion, but in 2024, the Supreme Court itself ensured that when this moment arrived, there would be no legal recourse left. In a landmark ruling, the Court expanded presidential immunity to such an extent that the office of the presidency is now functionally above the law. A president can commit crimes while in office and face no immediate accountability “”
