Wow, I’d forgotten how good this song is. Happy memories.

That's a blast from the past! Really great song.

Been going stir crazy with this summer cold I’ve had all week. I’ve kicked its ass at last, and now I’m kinda ready to go Gaga! 💃🏻
(so much phenomenal dancing….and ‘great jeans’ in all shapes and shades and sizes 😜)

I like that song, but it definitely wasn't released lately..😉
I always figured it was about Dublin or some place in Ireland.🤷
No idea what the singers name is, but Corb definitely has better teeth..😉

It's about Salford in Lancashire, and you are right, it's an old song, written way back.
The singer in the version posted is also the singer of arguably the most famous Christmas song of all time.

"Grandma got run over by a reindeer"?😉
I know the song (Fairytale of NY). Its not that well known over here. At least not one where the typical millennial would know it. I actually like the Pogues, just not enough to remember the lead singers name..
Didn't he just die a year or so ago?

Shane MacGowan, yep, he died in 2023.
Sadly, Kirsty McColl, the girl who sang with him on Fairytale of New York, is also dead.
She died tragically years ago when some idiot powered his motorboat into her whilst she was diving with her sons in Mexico.

This album came out about two weeks ago. I just stumbled across this artist today. Played this song and had flashbacks to 35 years ago and my step daughter waiting at the door with her Minnie Mouse backpack for a dad that never showed up that day.
