I think he's trying to downplay it for some reason, much as the Trump administration's party line.
But the cat's out of the bag with the Atlantic's release of the full transcript today.
Even so, Trump's press secretary is still trying hard, describing it as : "...another hoax written by a Trump-hater.."
Has anyone resigned yet, or no? I haven't had a chance to catch up with the news today but saw the poor attempt at spin from the UK following the war plan messages being subsequently published.

In the US, people go bankrupt and lose their homes because they cannot pay medical bills. In the UK they do not.
Facts bro.

In the Commonwealth Funds 2024 report the US ranked last out of 10 high wealth nations in relation to healthcare with the UK at 4th.
“ So while the debate of prioritizing an individual’s freedom to choose their insurance or an individual’s right to affordable healthcare continues to divide US politicians, the UK has consistently had lower rates of preventable mortality according to data obtained from the OECD. “
Fact! 👏🏻👏🏻

You won't lose your house in bankruptcy.

People live slightly longer in the UK.
What factors besides healthcare lead to those outcomes?

Look at the HEALTH CARE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE RANKINGS chart in that report.
The US comes well behind the UK in 4 out of 5 of the categories shown.
In fact, the US came last in all but one.

Trump is signing an order for a purge on the Smithsonian Institute, to eliminate "anti-American ideology" from its museums.
Ring any bells?
During the Nazi era, Hitler and the Nazi Party deemed modern art "degenerate" and purged it from German culture, labelling it "un-German," "Jewish," or "Communist," leading to the removal of such art from museums and the persecution of artists.

I think maddog knows full well how transparent the stats and links provided are and possibly trolls just a little when he sees the exasperation following his nonplussed replies. He can't be happy that he voted for Trump who has started a trade war which will hit the American taxpayer just as badly as the rest of us. The incompetence of the american administration inviting politicans into discussions of national security must be the icing on the cake. The worst thing about Trump and his hapless minions is they are isolating America from previous allies with their cutthroat legislation and bombastic attitude looking down on other countries and I don't think the average American signed up for that.

I didn't vote for Trump any of the 3 times that he has ran.
I'm just not apoplectic over what he does. Some things I agree with, others I don't..
Let's take getting out of NATO. I've been saying we should do that since before he ran the first time..
Downsizing government? We're 36 trillion in debt. Of course I support that..
Making Canada the 51st.state?
Stupid idea.
His immigration policies?
Sorta OK, buy probably a.little lacking on due process for some.
Idiots using Signal for war plans?.
Stupid..Waltz and Hegseth should quit or be fired..

Thankyou for answering more directly, it is honestly appreciated. I do agree that other countries should pay more towards defense but its relative to the size and wealth of the country. But do you think Trump is a pretty nasty piece of work and does it worry you that his tariff trade war is making everyone poorer for no real reason? Lastly do u care that Trump is making America unpopular on the world stage not just economically in the decrease in tourism but that the way he is acting is just causing ppl to dislike America generally?

I'm not sure his tariff wars have actually resulted in any tariffs yet.
The agreement for NATO has always been to spend at least 2% of your GDP on defense. Size of your country doesn't matter..2/3 of NATO have failed to do that until recently..
Trump is not a very nice person and a narcissist.
I'm not concerned about what other people in other countries like..

Just like Trump then.
Trump doesn't discuss his ideas or plans with other countries because he doesn't care what they think.
He rules by decree which can't really be done in a multipolar world of mutual reliance on people half a world away.
It's why he keeps finding himself in a hole with no idea of how to dig himself out of it... them.
His understanding of how the world works is very limited and he doesn't care.
He has created a world that mistrusts America like never before in my lifetime and for the most part there's no
way back for him or your nation.
But you don't care or really understand much more than him.
Not long since you said agreeing with him that you don't need Canada for anything... how stupid is that beginning to look now?
I know... you don't care.

Having an economic relationship doesn't mean being in a political alliance!
Trumps understanding of having an economic relationship is you
should be buying and selling an
equal amount between your nation and others but that's economic nonsense.
A very childish understanding of reality.
340 million Americans purchase Canadian goods.
40 million Canadians purchase American goods.
Guess which nation is buying less?
That's right and Trump understands that as America subsiding Canada
not America trading with a smaller nation.
When it comes to Europe he expects us to buy stuff we don't want!
Your food is mostly illegal across Europe and other places across the world so
we don't we can't purchase it.
You obviously don't make much of what the world want to buy or we'd all be buying it!
American cars are crap plus they are not really suitable for towns and cities built
a couple of thousand years ago!
Have you seen the streets in the UK and other European towns villages and
cities compared to American ones?
Trumps understanding of the world and economics is that Europe and the UK are ripping America off!
Give me a break you have voted in an imbecile!
Make stuff the world wants or needs and they'll buy it as your defence industry has shown.
When the likes of Trump and Musk export American manufacturing jobs
then blame the rest of the world for America losing it's manufacturing base
then lash out at other nations in some babyish tantrum the rest of the world take another step away.
