Anyone who can be cruel to animals is truly sick - even Fruit flies have been proved to be conscious yet people kill insects and spiders and sleep at night.
Not me.
The Abrahamic religions have lot to answer for.
Dominion my arse.

I killed a small fly in my kitchen yesterday and slept that night, does this mean I'm a bad person?

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

Well, that's true. We do have dominion because we are at the top of the life chain. Therefore, we're the keepers of the planet and all life on it. We have that power.

But people have seen this verse as justification to kill and abuse animals throughout history Digs.
Look at the US Bible Belt Bubbas who see snakes as representations of the Devil and those disgusting rattlesnake rounds up which slaughter thousands of the intelligent and social animals every year simply for perverted bloodlust.

We don't allow anything like that on here. But we do allow stuff that have uplifting endings because it highlights that there are good people out there and God knows we need to see that with all the shit going on the world right now.

Oh I know that, & I hear you
So, on your & Syl’s recommendation, I tried watching….and had to tune out at 40 seconds (despite the happy ending). Just me being a wuss, nothing more.

You should have persevered. Wee piggy snuggles up to her keeper for cuddles and gambols around with her chums happy as a clam. It's lovely to see an abused animal blossom into love and trust.

I couldn't have stopped watching, no way could I have the poor, sad, piggy on my mind all day.
As she slowly recovered, bonded with her rescuer, ventured out and ran happily through the grass, that was the bit that made me cry...with relief.

Imagine the combined power of these two in their prime (Sonny '58, George '73).
Ouch!

My latest pause for thought is that I am bloody glad I am not a seabird chick on Philip Island - what a way to go!

Not a bad article although I would put in Sonny instead of Tyson.
Good to see the 'Ghost With the Hammer in His Hand' Jimmy Wilde's freakish power is still fondly remembered.
