 I don't understand why people cover songs that have been done so recently, especially when they are not a patch on the original, and the majority of covers are not.

 Because they like the song and want to pay respects to the writer of the song.

I watched  Radney Foster discuss this one night.  He loves seeing his music get covered by others, and he mentioned that Keith Urban can sing all.of his songs whenever he likes..

He also mentioned the money doesn't hurt either..😉

 Chappel is taking a leaf out of Taylor Swifts book...good for her.

She writes/co writes most of her songs, so I don't blame her wanting them to sound the way she wants.

I can understand any artist wanting to sing the songs, it just seems pointless recording them and making videos, when a more successful  artist has just done it.

But if Kaitlins record company wants to spend their money that way, it's up to them.

 There are millions of people that have never heard Chappell Roan's version.

I don't think I have..I heard parts of the Pink Pony song. I think I might have heard it on the jukebox before, but I tune out most songs I'm not interested in..

There are also millions that love the song and will listen to another version of the song..

No doubt, record companies and producers are not going to throw money away.
Chappel gets played a lot here, I love her music....I do think her songs definitely grow on you the more you hear them.
