Sadly more bad news in America another bloody mutation is spreading fast - at least Joe is on the ball and ready to tackle the crisis and Trump can mow concentrate on conspiracy theories and then hopefully injecting himself with bleach as soon as he is finally booted out of the White House (one can dream).

Why are you only worried about what happens in America?
I'd say they have it a lot worse in places like India, Syria, Brazil even Mexico just South of the border. But you never mention them just Trump Trump Trump. Change the record ffs
I follow Worldometer so am perfectly aware of their problems thanks.
The point is that if it was not for his willful mismanagement, undermining his medical experts, his initial refusal to wear a mask, hosting super-spreader events, saying it was no more deadly than the Flu and endlessly promoting conspiracy theories then tens (perhaps hundreds) of thousands of Americans would still be alive.
But of course you know that and just wanted a cheap anonymous pop at me.

Another truly grim day for the UK a new record, 1,610 deaths in 24 hours and judging by recent history Wed and Thur's figures could be even worse. :(
This does not help either and even if the vaccines did contain traces of products derived from cows or pigs are people really prepared for both themselves and their loved ones to risk dying a horrific death from COVID-19 due to primitive ancient superstitions?

What's the difference between the death rates in America as opposed to any where else in the world then?
Mexico has a large death number as does India etc. But you only want to hold Trump responsible. You don't really care about Americans dying. You just want to attack Trump. What you going to do after the 20th Jan 2021?

I have already explained about America's demographics.
So fuck you.
Compare the death rates of the US to any country of comparable massive (relatively) underpopulated size.
Oh and I am going to laugh out loud as his rabid followers (like you) have an existential crisis as Biden does his best to mitigate some of the damage your fat orange God has done to the world starting with the Paris Accord and banning the Alaskan Pipeline - that is if his supporters do not commit mass murder which is very likely unfortunately.
I am going to enjoy seeing if he can avoid jail as well because all his followers fervent payers to Jesus will go unanswered.
They always do.
Happy days.

Different anon. Why do you call those of us who don't hate Trump rabid etc? there is nothing rabid in their post. Yours on the other hand are rabid and full of venom.
Look at the riots, burning of cities and murders by democrats all summer. no trouble at any Trump rallies, you get one bit of trouble and now Trump supporters are likely to mass murder?
Do you not have critical thinking? as everything from you is media narrative.

One bit of 'trouble'?
Are you kidding?
It was an attempted insurrection!
Oh and I am no fan of the endless BLM propaganda and statue removing either, especially here because we are just about the most inclusive and tolerant country in the world and always have been.
Far too tolerant in fact with regard to certain groups as Captain Hook at Finsbury Park Mosque and the Pakistani/Bangladeshi Muslim rape gangs working in plain sight and seemingly above the law for decades prove.
The race card is played far too often in this country.
Our history is very different to the US.

Yeah I think fines should be increased again for those who organise illegal raves or parties - or better yet jail them for six months.

Police intervene in thousands of illegal parties and get togethers every week. In this area it's not unusual for the police to report gatherings of 30 or 40 people every weekend.
We dont have enough jails to hold all the fools who attend these gatherings.

Looking at overall statistics they look devastating and are devastating.
But when you look deeper into them the chances of dying are still very slim. Take a conservative evidence based/guesstimate a bit of both. That's out there. That 5 million people in the UK have now had the virus. And say that 100,000 have died. That gives a person a 0.5 to 0.6% chance of dying. Around that. Which is very low when compared to many other things.
By far and away the worst thing with this virus and the variants even more so is how easily it transmits. It's ridiculous. As far as I can make out from some reading it transmits, far, far, easier than pretty much any other virus for a, long, long, time.

Still many people are just being very selfish. Probably because despite the devastating figures they actually know their chances of dying is very slim. That is no excuse though.
This Country is definitely full of more selfish people than it was like 30 years and more ago. The change has happened it my lifetime. I've noted it within many areas of life. Me, me, me, attitudes are rife now. I want, now, now, now.

It's not only the deaths, though they are certainly higher than for any other virus in living memory, in so short a time scale.
It's the growing pressure on the NHS, the lack of care available for other illnesse both mental and physical, the ever growing list of long covid after effects, dementia and early onset of the menopause now seem tp be added to that list.

Yeah Long Covid is a huge worry, 17,350 deaths in one day worldwide, another record I think.
Atm it's us and the US taking the worst of it nearly 4,400 gone in America yesterday.
Rather sad when of all the countries in the world we are the probably the top two who are best equipped to deal with a pandemic.
Government delays in implementing lockdown (and the ridiculous Christmas day amnesty) with people totally ignoring advice in both nations would seem to be the reason I think.

They (the experts) did say it would get worse before it got better.
You are right that the Christmas amnesty and the fools who still act as if all is well are two of the main reasons the figures are sky high.

This is simply unbelievable, I wonder if the fact that only 5 people were fined is because they were Ultra-Orthodox Jews?
Fears of being called anti-Semitic or just the sheer numbers made it intimidating?
I thought there was going to be a crackdown?
Oh and this bright idea of paying £500 to anyone who tests positive for COVID to self-isolate is simply ludicrous - all the scumbags who don't give a shit will be queuing up take the money and spread it all over the place anyway.
The £500 paid out to any worker who tests positive is ridiculous.
If it's brought in it will be paid regardless of finances and regardless of whether that person works from home or not.
For everyone who may desperately need it there will be others who will grab it whether they need it or not, and just carry on regardless.
I think Matt Hancock needs to rethink this one, do these people actually live in the real world?
