"In its long-range forecast, the Met Office has also said there will be some hill snow over the weekend and that “there is a chance colder conditions could start to feature” in the second week of February."
Hmm.. not quite your 'shitloads of snow" or the '170 mile wall of snow' the Express is getting excited about.

We have had more 'Danger to life' weather warnings this year than ever I can remember.
Most of the horrendous predictions fizzled out with a whimper.
We did have strong winds, oh, and a little tornado locally ripped off a few roofs, but it is winter. I bet if we look back 20, 50, 70 years ago, up to when weather statistics were recorded, a similar happened occasionally.

Lots of weather warnings at the moment for minus temps and shitloads of snow sometime next week

Rain at the moment here.
Dull here, lots of rain last night...and it's still very chilly with a cold wind.
The nights are getting gradually lighter though, always a good sign. x

You should make your husband take you here in the winter
Very windy in Scotland but at least it's not raining.
I will have to get a new Greenhouse for my tomatoes and Cucumbers this year.
Tumbling Toms are the nicest tomatoes.
I'll grow tatties, pea pods, tumshies and beetroot.
A big bag of dung works wonders but getting it here is a problem.
I wonder if farmers deliver?

Can you point us to one of these weather warnings please. Or is this just more misinformation?

It looks like fun, but you know Maddog, we can do most of those things without setting foot out of the UK
In the winter?
Brownsville weather.
Not always, but half the fun is in the anticipation that spring and summer will always come around again..
Yeah, I can see the allure of being wet and cold and looking forward to not being wet and cold for 3 days a year. 😉
Rubbish.
We had a 5 day heatwave last June.
More rain today, I've never known such a wet winter.
I prefer the cold, if I had to make a choice.
🙄
I think you should go to the beach and sit under an umbrella and sip a cool drink. 😎🍸
