That wouldn’t be a big deal for me, cos I don’t enjoy cooking.
As I often say, my favourite thing for dinner is a reservation 🤗

Lol....I know what you mean, Vam.
I don't particularly enjoy cooking, but I love the family gatherings, and I have a OH who is not a particularly good cook, so I get on with it.

15 years is nothing.
Gas ovens really don't have many parts. It's just a metal box with some pipes and a regulator..
I appraise houses with 100 year old ovens that have been refurbished..

It's electric not gas.
The hob was OK, but I thought I would replace it all, unfortunately, as it's built in, it needs to be fitted professionally, and it'll be next Wednesday before they come.

Those can have more parts. Are gas stoves common there?
The last administration was keen on getting rid of them here, to save the planet or some shit..
I don't think gas or electric matters much for an oven, but for a stove or cook top gas is so much better for cooking..

Gas cookers are still popular here.
I prefer electric now, it's safer and cleaner, I guess it's what you get used to.

You won't see an electric stove in a restaurant. There's a reason for that..

I went to the South Bank last weekend with the fam (and the mutt) for a walk by the river.
I got a chopped cheese sandwich (the type you get in NY) and seasoned fries from one of the food stalls in the market behind this South Bank centre. It was SO good.

Do you mean a Philly Cheese Sandwich?
Obviously you can get them in NY too..
But the assholes in Philly will say they aren't authentic.
Hell, they fight about those sandwiches in Philly when they are made next door to each other..

I had to look that up but apparently they are slightly different as Philly sandwich uses steak and the chopped cheese uses burger meat which is finely shredded. It had this bodega sauce on it which was delicious.

Do you mean a gyro, or are you actually eating a shwarma sandwich?
