Talking of football and weddings...
My Gran's brother got married the day England played in the final of the World Cup and his other brother called him a selfish bastard and fell out with him because it would mean he missed the game so he didn't go and never spoke again.
He couldn't accept the wedding was booked long before England reached the final.

He should have gone to the wedding, but heard the game at the reception on a small radio or something.
I know it was a big game, but to not talk ever again is stupid. They're brothers ffs.
My wristband came (And all the other stuff I ordered)

I only ever saw that brother of my Gran's once.
Years later I was visiting my other Granda in hospital and he was in the next bed.
I didn't know him to say hello and he wouldn't have known me anyway.
It was sad.

 It is Mags.
I could have introduced myself but what could I have said to a man that was very ill "i'm your sister's Granddaughter "
Glad I'm close to my brother, we've had one argument in 28years and that was quickly forgotten about.

So as some folk know...I started baking last year and have got quite good at it...Now do I bake an anniversary cake for Maw and Paw or a Mother's Day one? Baking two cakes would just be a waste seeing as one's on the 26th and one's on the 27th. 🤔

I think (if I could bake but I can't) I would go for the Anniversary cake...that way they are both included.

So Maw and Paw are married 57 years and they're the only ones of my dad's siblings that have been married that long.
Even my Gran and Granda on my mum's side didn't manage that.
My other Granny and Granda were married 63 years.
My Granny was only seventeen when she got married and my dad's eldest sister was born ten months later.
My Granda was six years or so older than my Granny and her family thought "she had to get married" because she was so young and her brother's beat him up.

They apologised but my Granda wasn't having it.
😂
Congrats to them...that's some going.
