Apparently it was quite a common thing to make memorabilia out of a loved one's hair - a bit like The Victorian habit of posing dead loved ones to look alive for photographic mementos.

Wow last person I'd expect to be confirming that a Bible story is true!
Well true in the fact that a terrible disaster really occurred - but nothing to do with a God's petty rage of course just a random hammer blow from space.
I suspect many Bible stories have a kernel of truth in them and the truth behind them is always more interesting than the fiction.
The fictional tale of 'Moses' was probably a garbled folk memory of the heretical Monotheistic Pharaoh Akhenaten for example.

I've been reading this. So many things out down to God being normal incidences of nature. I've always believed that. Thanks JD, interesting reading.

You are very welcome Mags.
I would argue that everything attributed to a 'God' is/was a natural event with a scientific explanation.
I am way behind in my science/nature/astronomy reading atm but will start posting on those threads again when I finally catch up.

People are such slobs. How can you even go out of the house without a wash or cleaning your teeth or getting into clean clothes?

We have one in our street....I think the only time she gets dressed is when she goes to have her lips pumped up more.

No self respect...dressing gowns, pajamas and slippers belong in the house.

This was my argument over on UKChat. I don't care how 'emancipated' women think they are, one still has to have morals and decorum in public. What you do or say in private is another thing.

With all the shit in the world this made my heart sad but uplifted. It's wonderful to see the compassion and connection between human and animal.
Orphaned Ndakasi was pictured taking her last breath while being held by her caretaker Andre Bauma, 49, in a harrowing scene at the Virunga National Park in eastern Congo.
Ndakasi, who died aged 14, was saved by Virunga rangers when she was just two-months-old after they found her clinging to the lifeless body of her mother who had been gunned down by armed militia hours earlier.
She was later transferred to the park's Senkwekwe Center with a fellow orphaned gorilla Ndeze where the pair rose to internet fame when they appeared in a selfie with park ranger Mathieu Shamavu in 2019.
