My dad is having his operation today and his hand has swollen up like a balloon because of Gout.
I hope this doesn't mean it will be cancelled.
🙁

Good luck to your dad, hopefully they go ahead.
I was in hospital Monday, waited all day for a small op, which I had.
Another lady had been there from 11am, No food or drink since 6am, she was in her hospital gown and slippers, in a holding room waiting to be called...at 6.30pm, as I was leaving, she was told to go home, her op had been cancelled.

It wasn't a bed shortage, she was having a general but could have gone home the same night....the reason given was they had been running late all day, and it was just too late to perform the op.
The worse thing was, she wasn't even told to come back the next day, she gets put on the waiting list again.

Oh that is just appalling! All that time she waited, and through no fault of her own, she's back on the waiting list! Grrrrr.

He got it done, he said the jag in his hand was more painful than the operation.
He's got a huge big bandage he's to take off on Monday, I've to do it because my mum sure ain't Florence Nightingale.

You would think a district nurse would do these aftercare jobs, they seldom do nowadays.
I have an appointment to see one... 8 days after my op, it should have been no more than 5 days after....I will probably end up changing the dressings myself.

Nurses aren't the same nowadays.
My mum got a bad infection in her wound when she had her hysterectomy, she could hardly walk and they made her go all the way up to the hospital.
She worked there actually and the doctor's often said "if I take ill, I hope I'm not in here when it happens.

My mum worked in the hematology department.
December 1988 and it's the departments night out with only one member of staff in the department and then the call went out "We're being put on standby to receive casualties after plane crash in Lockerbie.
Thankfully they weren't needed cause they were all pissed.

I have been in agony for two months with a fractured and infected elbow, been to hospital twice already and having to go back again tomorrow for another bloody X-Ray.
Treatment so far?
One week of anti--biotics and told to take Ibuprofin.
I bet if I was a migrant I would get five-star treatment.
Phil.

how did you manage that? The treatment prescribed is pretty much standard. It's up to you to look after yourself more.

Keep a close eye on it Phil, cause my dad had that operation last week on his wrist and it went up like a balloon and the stitches popped.
He's on antibiotics now.
The doctor was an arsehole.
Not only did he tell my dad not to come back, he was cheeky and said he should have been sleeping with his arm in the air.
How the fuck can he do that?
🤔

The council have taken away all the poop/rubbish bins and had the nerve to put up big signs warning of the consequences of not cleaning up after Fido.
I had to carry a wee bag of shit all the way home yesterday!!
Lol, hope I'm around then!

Like the scene in "Stir Crazy" when they get 125 years.
Richard Pryor starts shouting 'I'll be a 155 when I get out'
😂
Overrated and overpaid Erling Haaland took a dive in the box last night and was awarded a penalty against Scotland.
Norway must have thought the points were in the bag but my lads scored twice in the dying minutes and victory to Scotland!!
Big Huffy Haaland then stormed past his own supporters, ignoring them, which saw the Norway supporters boo him.
