The wheelie bins keep freezing shut and it's a bit slippy underfoot.
Feeding the birds each day.
I'm not buying anymore dried worms, they scunnered me something terrible.
Thinking of.you all up north. We had a lot of rain but no snow thankfully.
I've got my big hoodie on just now and Shorty has her wee jumper on.
The heating comes on soon, can't have it on all day though.
I bought my dad a big hoodie too because the cold makes his arthritis worse.
I think he's wearing it in bed!!
😂
Yes arthritis is a bane. Keep warm all of you x

Polar Vortex arrived in N. Texas yesterday. Dropped the temps 20F in about an hour and this morning it was 20F. Saturday night we were dining outside without coats.
That's around -6, blimey, that's colder than it's expected to get here this week.
Thursday we might get 6 inches of snow..
It's been very warm up until now. I have rarely worn a jacket all winter.
I always think of settlers to this area. Imagine leaving home one morning and it's 65 degrees and 3 hours later it's 25 degrees with a North wind howling at 40 mph.
We have forecasts. Best they had was intuition and experience..

True. But it's not exactly the same as a storm.
The weather here can be sunny and mild for two weeks, then out of the blue comes a temperature drop that can kill you.
Some dude in a light jacket would be in deep shit hours from shelter, if they weren't prepared..

-11 here today, frozen I was.
I filled my bird feeders up, by the time I was finished I could no longer feel my legs.

I bought new fuzzy pyjamas Syl, nice and cosy and if it gets too cold, I'll put my housecoat on.

It was the coldest night in Scotland for fifteen years last night.
It's going to be -20 in some parts in the next few days.

Look after yourselves up there Vita. It's really cold even for Scotland, a glimmer of hope is it's going to warm up a bit next week...we may even get to 4 or 6c here.

We will have to wait months before we see those temps, and that's if we are lucky.
