I am trying to find ways to get away from the bad news. I am going to get my cooking skills better and then when I move in with my friends and with the girl I really like I want to be able to cook her a nice meal so that's my aim during the lockdown and summer
That's good, and on that optimistic post we are moving on from individuals here and talking about this subject in general.
Sadly the latest figures are that the UK has had the highest number in 24 hours of reported deaths due to the coronavirus.
260 new deaths which brings the UK total to 1019.
Stay safe....stay in. x

Fair enough - I just find it annoying trolls follow me from forum to forum because they know I am harmless and a bit of a technophobe - so a very easy target.

Writing on Facebook Mrs Middleton, who lives in Buckinghamshire said: 'To all the people out there that thinks it's just a virus please think again speaking from a personal experience this so called virus has taken the life of my 21 year old daughter.'
This is what pisses me off about the media. They leap for worst case scenarios in order to sell dramatic headlines. They're driving this engine of fear and that drives the extreme measures to control the virus, which is eminently survivable for the most part, and thus we end up with society crumbling and going down the pan, which is a really scary thing, far scarier than covid 19 ever will be.

The original story from the Guardian has now been withdrawn.
It seems the coroner said the girls death was related to Covid-19 after the girl died suddenly and had a cough?? This apparently came as news to the medics who had treated her in hospital, they had not reported her death as related to the virus.
Her family then posted on social media ....and the rest was inevitable.

Relatively 'good' news today the death rate seems to be falling here - early days but perhaps we have turned a corner?
Apart from Spain death rates look to be stabilising - fingers crossed.

Self isolation and social distancing has to work, I think it'll take time to show the true results, and hopefully the figures wont surge when people do start mixing again...whenever that may be.

Has anyone seen the news that's just been announced?
563 deaths from Coronavirus and 4,324 new case in the UK in the last 24 hours.
I hope everyone is staying safe because this is terrifying, i'm looking after my elderly parents.
You can't take chances with people who are nearly 80.
Everyone has to do their bit. I don't think it's even peaked yet and it'll be a few weeks yet. I don't think this will even start to slope off until end of the month if we're lucky.

A medical expert said 20,000 deaths from the virus in the UK would be a 'Good outcome' Digs
We just have to be careful, keep washing our hands, keep our distance and only go out if it's absolutely necessary.
Oh and everyone, please watch out for sickos like this.

The high rise in deaths over the last 24 hours is really sad news, not unexpected though. My heart goes out to everyone of them and their families.
It's terrible Syl and I read about a wee boy of 13 who died alone in hospital because the risk of infection to his family was so high.
Utterly heart breaking.
It's terrible Syl.
Mind everyone big round of applause at 8pm tonight to show our appreciation to the NHS!!

Yes, it was really emotional last Thursday, tonight will be the same hopefully.
It's one uplifting thing to happen when not much else is lifting the spirits right now.
