The lockdown has stopped infection spreading, that's obvious.
How can that have cost lives?
Lockdowns themselves dragging on and on do cost lives for other reasons other than the virus itself. The CMO has mentioned that many times, at times explaining in detail as to why he's saying it. The link seems to say lockdown saved no lives.. that's clearly wrong though. Doesn't work for me either.

I was presuming the link was referring to covid related lives.

For starters, people die of other things because resources are diverted to fighting covid, when those resources are not needed.
We have seen a huge decrease in heart attacks here in the states.
Do you really thing this stress has cause fewer heart attacks?
No I don't. Our CMO has been quite clear about the indirect damage lockdowns can do.

More than 600 of the nation’s physicians sent a letter to President Trump this week calling the coronavirus shutdowns a “mass casualty incident” with “exponentially growing negative health consequences” to millions of non COVID patients.
“The downstream health effects...are being massively under-estimated and under-reported. This is an order of magnitude error," according to the letter initiated by Simone Gold, M.D., an emergency medicine specialist in Los Angeles.
“Suicide hotline phone calls have increased 600%,” the letter said. Other silent casualties: “150,000 Americans per month who would have had new cancer detected through routine screening.”
From missed cancer diagnoses to untreated heart attacks and strokes to increased risks of suicides, “We are alarmed at what appears to be a lack of consideration for the future health of our patients.”
Patients fearful of visiting hospitals and doctors’ offices are dying because COVID-phobia is keeping them from seeking care. One patient died at home of a heart attack rather than go to an emergency room. The number of severe heart attacks being treated in nine U.S hospitals surveyed dropped by nearly 40% since March. Cardiologists are worried “a second wave of deaths” indirectly caused by the virus is likely.

I take it you weren't invited?
I had no idea know there was still still such a thing as a Rave and even when they were so popular I would not have gone to one if someone fucking paid me!

Scotland's journey out of Lockdown starts tomorrow!!
My mother has already organised her first little excursion, she's off to my Aunt's for a wine and sandwiches afternoon.
It will do my Aunt good, she's been on her own since my uncle died a few weeks ago and this is just what she needs.
Well she's not exactly been on her own, my cousin (Her son) sent his dog to stay with her.
I've got a feeling the dog will be a permanent fixture!!
Anyway...
It will be good to start getting back to normal!!

We can play golf again starting tomorrow as well.
Scotland is known as "The home Of Golf"
I might set off and have a round at the Old Course in St Andrew's
Marvellous golf course!!
Actually it would cost you £195 to play a round of golf at the Old Course, I would be expecting a fortnight in Spain for that.

I bet holiday prices will soar after this, the planes will be flying at quarter of normal capacity, I wonder who will be paying for that?

Only the people who are loaded will be able to fly for a while Syl.
If you fancy a wee break you could come here, Crail's my favourite place in Scotland.
That photo brings back happy memories.
My mum liked a long lie so me, my dad and brother would all head down to the harbour in the early morning.

It looks beautiful there Vicky, very much like some little harbours in Cornwall or Wales.
This summer we planned a road trip round the UK, we were just going to pack and go.....have to wait till next year now.

These lockdowns don't happen in a vacuum. While your giving extra care in one area, you're neglecting people in other areas.
That would be understandable if we didn't have rooms and medical staff sitting vacant and being laid off.
