She’s going to be the GOAT until someone beats her record so I reckon she can wear as many goats on her leotard as she likes. As for your ultimate sentence, grow up.

I just think, given the history of the way young female gymnasts have been treated in the past, it's real progress that they now, in the US at least, have the choice.

Unqualified people should never denigrate that choice either. This is a vulnerable young woman who has survived terrible sexual and emotional abuse. She showed tremendous courage to get back on the dreaded beam.

One false step and you're in snatch hell!

I like the weightlifting - especially the clean and jerk!

That must have helped with the dancing.
On a rather shallow note Queen Victoria was on the Olympic highlights show today - bloody hell if she had not been a great cycling champion she could have been a supermodel!

What a great day - medals galore for GB and only behind China, the US and Japan in the table!
The lovely Laura Muir has been alone in taking on the Africans all time greats for years so her silver was really pleasing and what a time she ran as well!

The few disappointments we have had are the rowing and Dina and KJT being injured - a fully fit Kat would have won the Heptathlon I think.
The Kenny household must be running out of room for all the Olympic golds they have won - 11 between them so far in their magnificent careers!

Tom Daley has made history by being the only Brit to win 4 Olympic medals for diving...he got the bronze this morning.
And you know more about the boxing than I do...but we won a Gold.

Yes we did - medals galore again today.
Plus another Pentathlon Gold this time in the men's.
Fourth in the table still.

Poor Laura was in a brutal crash through no fault of her own in the first round of the final, given what she did later the gold would have been hers which made husband Jason's record 7th afterwards even more jaw-dropping.
12 golds in that one household!
Lauren Price was also incredible - 55 caps as an international footballer, then a world kick-boxing champion and now Olympic gold in the boxing!
So we finished 4th with 65 medals across a wider range of sports than anyone else on the planet - a totally brilliant performance.

Considering the circumstances, I think the Olympics have been a great success all round.
Hopefully 4 years from now the world will be back to normal.

So handy for the Brits and as Paris shares our time zone they will make perfect viewing for everyone in the evening as well.

Paralympics start on Tues night!
Good luck Johnny, The Werewolf, Sarah, Hannah, Ellie and all the rest.
An added bonus at Prefontaine was seeing the arrogant 'gangsta' trash talking Sha'Carri Richardson get blown away by the three Jamaicans and finish a vanishingly distant last place.
Her foul mouthed interview at the end was just icing on the cake.
The yanks have hyped her up to the stratosphere (as they always seem to do before a US sprinter has done anything) and she did just what I thought she would do - fail miserably.
Oh and congratulations to Elaine Thompson on her incredible 10.54 run - everyone knows that is the real world record (not only was Flo Drug juicing to an incredible degree but when her 'record' was set the wind gauge was broken and she had a gale force wind blowing behind her (+5m/sec - +7m/sec , the limit for official records is +2m/sec) which was then covered up (another thing the US track team were 'experts' at in the '80s).
