I think your problem here is that you're trying to promote yourself as some kind of health guru to an audience that's not particularly interested. I don't think your constant message 'Y'all gotta do what I do or y'all gonna DIE' is going down too well.

I'm just a guy putting in the effort that experts in the field recommend, and sharing that information.
Do you think good health impacts your life, especially as you age?
Do you think good health is just luck, or does it require effort and some planning?.

Let's face it. We are all old. This thread is to make getting old less debilitating.
I'll start with a short clip from Peter Attia. If you're not following him, I suggest you start. He's one of the premier longevity experts on the planet.
Buy his book too. If you're counting on twice a year, 15 minute doctor appointments to keep you healthy at this stage, you're going to be disappointed..
You can spend your whole life eating the right food and doing the right exercise, or in the case of that millionaire nutter, changing your blood every month with plasma, and still get run over by a bus.
You have to be some type of idiot to give up eating a nice steak so you can live an extra five years of not eating what you want
I've a SIL who a vegan and looks unhealthy. I used to cook her a separate dinner at family get togethers but now she just gets what ever veggies are on the side

I'm just the messenger. People like Dr Lyons create the message..
"Dr. Lyon’s rich background encompasses a dual research and clinical fellowship in geriatrics and nutritional sciences at Washington University, complemented by her undergraduate training in nutritional sciences at the University of Illinois. As an authority in the practical application of protein types and levels for health, performance, aging, and disease prevention, she is highly sought after as an educator."

Maybe you should also point out the potential dangers of doing 50 push-ups and lifting weights, in case any of your target audience decides to follow your training advice.

Did he say he had a problem?
It's fairly obvious he doesn't realise he has one.

What danger is there?
Getting more fit?
Sounds dangerous. 🙄

I do weights every day.
I have 2 81b weights, and I do repetitive overhead and side arm lifts every morning.
I know they seem light, but 50 on each arm takes some doing...and they keep my arms strong, which when your knees are knackered, is a good help.

Doing lots of push-ups as you're recommending, especially for someone not used to it or for an older person, can cause wrist, shoulder or back problems. Weight lifting can cause the same, as well as joint injuries. If you're going to present yourself as the forum's nutrition and exercise guru you should be aware of that and I'm surprised you aren't. For ladies in the age range that is your target audience on here, if they're thinking of doing any kind of exercise then something like regular gentle swimming would be a better option than pumping iron like a wannabee Arnold Schwarzenegger. It might be the Texas way of doing things but bear in mind it's English Roses you're preaching to here and it probably isn't their cup of tea.
Been there done all that Maddog, I had my first total knee replacement 10 years ago.
It was a huge success, awaiting the other...also had hip replacement in same leg 2 years ago.
I actually need an ankle replacement too, but they are not so successful, so trying physio first.
Osteoarthritis is a bugger.
I think this is what Maddy is trying to avoid in his old age but unfortunately it rarely works out that way.
I understand his desire for healthy longevity though.

Osteoarthritis can strike anyone, it's the luck of the draw imo....it's wear and tear, so they say.
I was dead active, still playing tennis, cycling, kayaking up till 5 years ago....maybe if I had been less active throughout life my joints would have worn better....who knows?
That's what I thought and have said past posts.
Looking a bit rough too but this kind of extra weight seems to be desirable in America so long as you don't become lard arse fat.
I don't eat big macs.
I'd like to drop 20 pounds, but I'm always going to look more like a rugby player than a cricket player.
Madds get back to what you used to be instead of this vanity project.
Anyone can look like a rugby player believe it or not.
Age is obviously becoming a worrying aspect of life for you.
Stop it already!
What is wrong with sharing information from experts in the field?
I never claimed I was an expert, nor the epitome of health..
Just that I'm putting in the effort, and you should too..
Another short for everyone but Jack..😉
