It's more likely poor resource allotment, which is sort of related. We are 36 trillion dollars in debt and borrowing trillions more every year now..Yet we have not had enough air traffic controllers for years. So we are spending a shit ton of money, but not on the stuff that really matters. We spend it on stuff like below........
The idea he was trying to push is that air traffic controller/s with intellectual and psychiatric disabilities are being hired, and that's why the collision happened. You couldn't make it up - but he has.

Trump was saying rather than a DEI policy of employment employment should return to merit independent of DEI. So employ the best people for the job independent of race, colour, creed, gender, sexuality etc. Do you not agree?

It's a bit of a stretch, but DEI requires people like that to be hired..I have no idea if the FAA hires people like that. I have no idea why any government agency would hire people like that, but here we are..
And, it appears the helicopter pilot was responsible and was a black female. Was she better than other soldiers who wanted to be a pilot, or was she chosen to promote diversity in the army?
There are places where these social experiments are probably just silly, but harmless. And there are places where they are deadly..

I’ve warmed slightly (very slightly) to Trump in regard to equality and diversity issues he mentioned (if true of course)…. apart from dwarfism … they have the same brain and intelligence as an average height person FFS??… but i do agree with the rest when in a position of ATC!

The controller told the helicopter to change course as it was flying in airspace for commercial aircraft.
So the pilot of the helicopter didn't follow protocol and was too slow to correct her error.
Perhaps more controllers working would have seen the problem sooner..

No. There is no data that would indicate that any females are better or worse than any other humans when piloting aircraft.
There is actual data that indicates standards are different for soldiers depending on their gender.

As of 2022, the army scrapped the idea that women were to be tested (physically) to the same standards as men, because of a high failure rate.
That doesn't mean that female pilots aren't as qualified, but it does show the army is fine with two different standards..
