Oh Syl, you sound in a lot of pain. No offence to Maddog but if you need to take painkillers I think you can be forgiven for laying off the exercise until you're ready. I hope you're getting plenty of tlc. Fingers crossed the pain lessens soon and take good care of yourself xx
I have to do the exercises to keep the leg from stiffening up, in the long run it'll be worth it.
I am getting lots of TLC, so I know I am very lucky.
There were a couple of ladies in the same ward who were going home alone when they were discharged, I know they will cope, because they were strong, but it made me sad that they have such an uphill struggle ahead, with no one to help them.
We're they sending them home alone after knee replacement?
That doesn't seem like a good idea..
No, they won't allow you home straight away if you have no one to help. They were working out care plans for the two ladies who lived alone.

Gotcha.
Seemed like a recipe for disaster.

Thanks....will see how the Arnica works.
Are you still taking those NMNH supplements? I stopped when I knew I was having surgery...will start again soon.

Crikey! That's some achievement. Was it painful? Or did you have support like crutches?

Two crutches, advice is after 4/6 weeks down to one. But around the house I am just using the one...it's a lot less cumbersome.
Yes, it's painful.

Syl you really are doing fantastically. I don't think everyone in your situation would have the willpower to achieve what you have. You should be proud of yourself, well done!
😳… my instinctive reaction on seeing that was to immediately think: ‘SYL! If you’re gonna try that, maybe give it 5 or 6 weeks? Just to be sure!’
The woman is a star though, tbf. But everyone’s built differently, and convalescence and healing thresholds can vary.

Thank you. I am trying really hard to get my independence back as soon as possible. I really appreciate all the good wishes sent on here. x

She is amazing....I am not sure I will be doing that in 2 and a half weeks.
I will wait to see the physio before I try any squats.
I remember when I had the first one done (11 years ago) the gym at the physio's was brilliant. Weights and exercise bikes, and he really put us through it.
Hoping this physio will be as good.

Bumping this, cos I saw Syl on another thread saying she’s still in ongoing pain.
Are you still on the Codeine, Syl? And do you have your first post-op consultation coming up anytime soon?
