I think you are probably right. I was a little taken aback when I saw the footage and it seemed suspicious how accurate the shot seemed to be and how the shooter managed to escape. However, a lone gunman does seem the more likely scenario, although ithe motivation is evidently political.

I was just reading an FBO agents take. The shot was under 200 yards, so not difficult and he could have been in the car in 2 minutes and miles away in 5.
The only thing that makes me wonder is did he carry the rifle back to the car?
He could have put his black clothes in a backpack and look like any other student running for their life. We do have rifles that disassemble and would fit in a back pack, so I guess that's possible..
My point is, that in the West, hunting, gun ownership and gun knowledge is very common and millions of Americans could plan something out like this.
Think what Elk hunting entails. Stalking and hiding for days trying to get within 200 yards of a very elusive animal, to take one shot. It was 30.06 round/rifle.
Probably the second most common hunting rifle in the US and the most common west of the Mississippi as its fairly flat shooting and packs a series wallup.
The 30 stands for the caliber (.30 inches in diameter) and the 06 is the year it was introduced (1906)..
It's been around for ever and there are millions in the US..

He also disagreed with abortion even if a woman was r*ped, said gay people were an abomination and believed a woman as a man's intellectual inferior should "obey" and submit to her husband. In.a horrible twisted irony he believed the deaths that occurred from liberal gun laws in the States were "worth it " (his exact words)
I have raised these points to elaborate on him being simply a happily married Christian bloke. He had loathsome views that went beyond merely right wing and that explains, but does not excuse , the social media celebrating his death. That is inexcusable. His two young children have still lost their Dad and I understand the administration being angry at the reaction to Kirk's murder.
However I also understand people disliking him as he went out of his way to fan the flames between races and just didn't seem to harbour particularly fair or intelligent views.

I didn't know much about the deceased prior to yesterday and I do feel sorry for his family but his politics go beyond just right wing I would say. If he was prepared to say such controversial things in public forums I'm surprised he didn't have far more security.
If Trump uses his friend's death as a reason to attack his political opponents and the public who vote democrat then I fear for the trajectory that will likely soon occur not just in the States but the knock on effect it may have here too. The man is an agent of chaos and division.

Charlie Kirk. This quote is not exact in grammar but the sentiment is spot on. He said something akin to "black women don't have the brain power to hold down good jobs that should be for white men". He was mocking Michelle Obama amongst others at the time.
