Folk here are pulling out their teeth cause they can't see/ afford the dentist.
They'll be doing their own stitches next.

Talking of which...
My brother and his wife went to the dentist (same practice at the same time and day) she went to an NHS one and he went to the private one.
Her filling was £12 and his was £55 or was it teeth they got out?
I can't quite remember but that's what it cost.
Her daughter has just passed her first year exams at University to become a Doctor so here's hoping a few years from now, she can diagnose us.
Just need a dentist in the family and we're sorted!!

My dad lost my prescription in Asda yesterday, he put it down at the self service checkout to pack his bags and forgot to pick it up.
Only realised when he got home and when I dashed up in the car it was gone so I was left in the unenviable position of contacting the pharmacy to explain.
I was worried they would think I was pulling a fast one but just as I was about to phone, my neighbour chapped the door.
He has his own business and as luck would have it, one of his drivers was next to use that checkout, saw my address and brought it home for me!!

Oldham.
I haven't been for ages, went to the shopping centre today, and it has to be the most dismal place I have visited in years.
Not only are half the shops empty, the higher floor is completely blocked off.
Trying to find the car was like something out of the Twilight zone.
I parked on floor 3, but the pay station and lift I was directed to coming home was in ABCDEF....not 12345, which led me to a derelict part of the car park, with only alarmed emergency doors to escape through.
It was like being trapped in the Hotel California, without the perks.

The country is being held to ransom by strikers, we have the worst government in living memory, and no one can account for who the heck is in this country now.
The government brag about the billions they are investing into the country, yet it's impossible to see a GP, no NHS dentists will take new patients (unless newly arrived) and the high streets have tumble weed blowing around them.
Latest...Gatwick workers will start their strikes at the end of the month, just in time for the school holidays.
Junior doctors are presently on a 5 day strike, the longest in NHS history...they want a 35% pay rise instead of the 6% offered.
I had to go for a mammogram today, you get the results straight away, and thankfully mine was clear.
One poor lady walked out of the consulting room and was in floods of tears, obviously she had received bad news, I still feel depressed thinking about how life can be changed in an instant.
Anyway, the results should have been given salmost traight away, but it took four hours for me, and everyone else, whether it was good news or not, to see the Dr after the Xrays were taken.
Not sure if the junior Dr's strike had anything to do with the long wait, but it was so long, someone actually came round offering free sandwiches and drinks.

My mum was at the doctor's yesterday because of a mole on her face and she's to go to the hospital today.
When I had the same but on my lip I had to wait weeks, and my dad got his operation within a few weeks of seeing the consultant.
Things seem to be moving faster up here too.

It's good your mum is being seen so quickly, and your dad only having to wait weeks instead of months, in some cases years, is a step forwards too.
Unfortunately today, senior doctors and consultants are on strike here, the main Manchester hospital has cancelled most of the appointments...again.

I've been reading about the strikes, it's hard to have sympathy for them when people are dying because of their actions.

The strikes are holding this country to ransom now.
Today, broadcasters, senior Dr's and train workers are on strike here.
I understand why the very low paid need more money, but striking has a knock on effect. The junior Dr's strike...then the senior Dr's and consultants, who are already earning plenty, strike so the pay gap remains the same.
Made me think of this thread.
