This is the Whine and totally different from the rest of the forum as are my posts (mostly), I have created several threads such as Astronomy, Nature, Palaeontology and Archaeology which I put a lot into.
Hardly anyone reads them but I hope those that do enjoy it...
Those threads should be put in a publicly accessible part of CM.
Which makes me think of a more general question; why would anyone join CM if they don't know what it is about. As it stands it seems that CM is just a forum for people who already know each other from elsewhere. There is no clue from the name CM what it is about. The name sounds like someone's blog title.
There's that word...'should'...again. You want to read the rest of this forum, then try joining. No proxies. No mobiles phones. Then you'll have earned your right to comment with an equal voice and read the rest of the forum.
Right. I want to know why there is an error message about stealing information. I mentioned this before. You seem to have no idea why people are using proxy servers on your site.
Fwiw I only know very little about posters , just the gossiping of the few weeks but there is a difference between having an equal voice and being spoken to like a human being. Two messages on DS told me this place was created for a reason I can see is not true so I am aware not all the gossip is accurate.
What do you mean, 'stealing information'? What error message? I have no idea what you're talking about.
Nobody really cares what DS members say about this place. Or anyone else for that matter. It's a chat forum. Nothing more sinister.
I too have gotten the "error" messages but did not note the "stealing" message, hence the use of a VPN. I'm no expert but it could be someone is trying to hack the site, alter posts, just supposition on my part. I'd contact the web hosts if I was you.
Nobody else has that problem. Odd only you 'too' get it.
I get it 'too', without using a VPN. Screenshot attached as proof, if you'll approve it of course.
Mobile phone users get the same problem. Android in particular. It's an SSL connection error.

But for some reason I'm getting it on all browsers, not just Chrome, I'm not sure what's going on there then

I've just told you. It could also be that your browser is not updated. Date and time settings on your device are not right. Your antivirus is at fault - it could be overriding your network. There's a whole raft of reasons why. If you persist in using your phone or proxies then you get this happen from time to time.

And I said I'm not using a proxy. All browsers are up to date. Avast security and antivirus are up to date. Device date and time are correct and up to date. It also happens on laptop, which is new, and yes, all updated.

All I can say is I have never seen that message, could it be the browser you are using? I never use Chrome.
edit......
I just googled and it does seem to be an error with Chrome, there are details on how to stop it.

Some of the Anons (or maybe just one?) have been posting out their arses over the last couple of pages Either that, or they’re reading a different Dogs forum.
Stooo very very rarely overrules his help! He‘s always pretty much given them free rein to run the place as they see fit. To be fair, given that they give up their free time to “admin” for him, it’d be a shit move on his part to overturn any decision they make.
That said, he’s a weird, insipid, fickle SOB. Irrespective of how many meet-ups/phone calls he’s had with people over the years, or how many years he’s been “mates” with them, he never has a problem chucking folks under the bus when a new shiny thing comes along. Ask Vicky & (probably) Mes.
Oh &, more recently, ask Gabby & Bella, even Ragga, who all really do go back years with him. Hobbit has decided their faces don’t fit, so will routinely snarl at them & try to humiliate them...& Stooo obediently starts treating them like shit too.
Holly’s the useful workhorse who does the graveyard shift for him & flits about a bit during the day. Hobbit is the shiny new thing that’s mesmerising him these days - it’s clear whatever & whoever she decides on, is how it will roll. No deviation allowed!
Spot on Vam... he’s definitely influenced by the Rottweiler for some reason, there’s no doubt about that!.... did you manage to get home yet btw, given all what’s going on?
Heya Gab ;) Nope, not yet. Had 3 return dates cancelled (so far) & the airport out here is still on lockdown. Word is it might open up again to European routes on 15th May. Soooo....keeping it all crossed! Stay well, you (& everyone)
Fingers and toes crossed for you.... you must be really be missing your dogs and your normal lifestyle by now..... this thing just sucks!

It doesn't always happen with mobiles either, I have seen it on my laptop. When the newbies were giving Digger shit about it I wondered if Stooo would bother to say there is warnings all over his gaff too. He didn't quite have the balls for that though.
This 'not secure" is just because the forums aren't established approved sites that Chrome etc has checked out and deemed safe. I think. Unless I'm totally off the mark, it's been known to happen

When you get that message it does mean the site is not safe, as simple as that. The possible consequences of this message alerts you to the real possibility that you can be easily hacked, tracked, located, etc by anyone with a bit of knowledge. It's the way the site has been set up and does not always mean the site owners are up to no good but it leaves you open and when I see messages like that, I avoid. The site owners can ask the hosts for help and pay for a certificate to make the site safer but many smaller sites do not do this.

Is it true? Not trolling simple yes or no, i don't believe you would try to obtain passwords or credit card details because you would end up in a world of shit . But is the anon right, could someone with knowledge like Budgie hack into peoples phones or computer if they wanted to?
Doesn't a vpn protect from that sort of thing at all?
