I am wondering when the boosters come around in the Autumn, whether people will have to stick to the one they have already been given....or will the vaccinations be flexible enough to mix and match?

With scum like this I really really get fed up.
I have a close relative who is a high ranking policeman - and he said they are not allowed to use use water cannons like the rest of Europe because of 'human rights'.
Over 4,200 deaths in Brazil over the last 24 hours which is a new record, and the deadly new variant is spreading fast.
I hope that macho moron Bolsonaro is happy, it will soon be in countries with low vaccination rates.

And if one country is not able to handle it, the rest of us will suffer eventually.

Exactly.
This arrogant idiot is a one man disaster zone, not content with willfully destroying the Amazon rainforest his appalling handling of the epidemic will scar Brazil for decades to come.

They will eventually get herd immunity.
One way or the other.

No doubt....and how many deaths they are suffering will depend on which way they achieve herd immunity.

Yes, but like I said before, it's a global problem.
If no one ever travelled abroad it wouldn't be.....but soon enough borders will reopen up again and once more it'll be everyones monkey.

Not if vaccines work.
I guess it's a problem for people who want the vaccine and can't get it. .

Bolsonaro simply does not care - he is one of the world's true monsters and is still only bothered about re-election as Brazil's graveyards fill to the brim and the countries health services collapse.
Why are human beings so often fooled by such obvious boorish psychopaths?
I can only assume it's because we are social apes and so genetically programmed to follow an 'alpha' no matter how totally despicable they are.

I simply don't care about Bolsonaro. I have a life to live and he's not really much of an impact on it. I have politicians closer to home trying to run my life, not to mention problems that I create all by myself.

Neither do I but I care about the new variant which will spread to the world.
Anyway I have severe problems of my own to worry about.

Well this latest Brazilian variant seems to be far better at avoiding the vaccine than the others but let's hope so MD.

Some real-world Israel Pifzer data which is always more accurate than lab data just released states that the South African variant can "break through" the vaccine.
When you read the article though it says "to an extent". To what extent. It didn't really say yet. Not in the info that I saw at least.
Things are gonna need to be tweaked as we go along. That's quite clear. But overall vaccines appear to be a success once you get enough into arms.

I read the same thing. It didn't say what happened to the handful of people that caught that variant after vaccination. We've always known that the virus can beat the vaccine, but that when it did, it was a very mild case..

The Brazil variant is killing young children now - the irony is that Bolsonaro who refuses to even consider a lockdown as 3,500 people die every day there will be sleeping like a baby.
The worldwide death toll has just passed 3 million, we are very lucky here to have had such an efficient vaccination program, in may countries fatalities are still accelerating fast.

The vaccination programme has been a great success, unfortunately our border control has been, and still is abysmal.
