About the only canned veg I buy are peas, runner beans, baked beans, spinach and sweet corn. OH loves chip shop style mushy peas, I prefer garden peas. (both tinned)
Mushy peas, fish, chips and gravy. Heaven.

Chippies will always be in fashion...bonus points if anyone can find an English one.
We have one advertised as such locally....it's Chinese owned and run.

Ate out, had cheese and onion omelette, chips, lots of salad and a chocolate milkshake. Yum 😊
My mum couldn't cook very well, but she made the most gorgeous egg custards, rice puddings, and bread and butter puddings.

Had my front teeth filed today so something flipping soft, I’m really fed up with the pain. Maybe some ice cream and grapes later.

They are gorgeous, especially home made ones.

I followed the recipe Maddog gave to the letter, it looked, and I am sure, tasted, exactly like the roast cabbage in the video.
It was OK, but I far prefer boiled with pepper and butter. It tastes cleaner, fresher, and I'm pretty sure it's healthier cooked that way.

Well, you boil potatoes too..........
Why would boiled cabbage be healthier than roasted cabbage?

Less fat.
Of course I boil potatoes sometimes,. Do you get Jersey Royals where you live? They are gorgeous boiled.
No wonder Americans are fattter than Brits....they fry or roast everything that's edible.

Butter has less fat than olive oil?
Have you heard of the Mediterranean diet?
If you were really worried about health, you'd ditch the spuds.

"In summary: Olive oil offers more heart-healthy benefits due to its fat composition and antioxidant content. However, butter can be a valuable ingredient in baking and for flavor, but should be consumed in moderation due to its high saturated fat content."
The same would go for avocado oil too, which is what I use to roast vegetables. The smoke point of olive oil is a little low for roasting..
I almost never eat fried food, except maybe fries once every 3 months..

I eat a med diet a lot of the time...scarcely eat red meat, not much dairy, loads of fish, fruit, salads, and butter in moderation is better than roasting/frying everything in oils and fats.
I don't worry about my health, in regard to my food ... or my weight....I eat the foods (and prepare them) in a way that pleases me.
