Thanks to the surges around the world the daily death toll is above 15, 000 again.
Thank goodness for the NHS and Oxford Astrazenica as we have it beat here now (if people don't go insane when all the restrictions are relaxed that is).
Go insane.
You have plenty of time to do nothing when you're dead.

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Despite a strong start to the vaccine roll out, Tarrant County has seen a drop off in vaccine interest.
“We have got to find some way to incentivize people to get out,” said Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley.
And when it comes to incentives, he says cash is a good option.
“Maybe $50. If we pay $50, that’s close to $100 million if you look at Tarrant County being at about 2.1 million people,” Whitley said.
Tarrant County is on track to receive a little more than $407 million in federal funds for Covid-related expenses, while the cities in Tarrant County are expected to receive about $456 million.
“So what I would like to see us do is maybe go in, and partner with the cities, so that if one of their citizens come forward maybe we pay half, and they pay half and we just give them a cash incentive for getting the vaccine,” Judge Whitley said.
We have vaccinated most everyone that's going to get it.
I have a friend, who has friends flying in from Mexico to get the shot, because it's so easy here now.

It's a sad state of affairs if people have to be bribed with money to do their ethical/moral, call it what you will, duty.
Far better, imo, to prevent unvaccinated people from enjoying certain things that pre covid, we all took for granted.
If that was to include being employed in certain places, travel, gaining entry to certain events, joining clubs etc, so be it.
Obviously if a person has a genuine health reason for not being vaccinated they should be exempt as long as they have proof.

What's better? The carrot or the stick?
Since the vaccines work so well, I'm of the opinion of doing neither.

As long as a high enough percentage of people generally have been vaccinated in any given place, Country. For it to have the desired effect.
Personally I'm not too bothered about those who decide not to have it. It can be left up to them as far as I'm concerned.
You would likely have a problem if a given place or Country had only a fair, or low vaccination uptake however. Mandatory vaccination laws may be worth thinking about in those circumstance.
One caveat imo is that it should be mandatory in all Countries that all health workers must get the vaccination including those who work in care homes. Just as in the UK at least you cannot become a Surgeon unless you have the hepatitis B vaccination.

If enough people are vaccinated and the levels of infection don't rocket due to the vaccination being able to cope, including coping with the new strains, then the small'ish' % of people who refuse the jab won't be a big problem .
It will be like the flu jab, it's not mandatory because flu though dangerous, doesn't kill thousands a week.
It should be compulsory for certain people to have the jab, hospital and care home workers as has been mentioned, especially as, if a health worker has flu they are too ill to work...with Covid many people are unaware they have it.
At present we (the UK) are on top of the virus thanks to enough people being willing to have the jab, if it stays like that there won't be a problem.

That evil bastard Mohdi and his administration have certainly ensured that for a lot of the world (we will be fine because we have been the world leader in vaccination despite having a large Indian population here) the worst is certainly not over.
The deliberate and cynical cover up of the true number of deaths (not the first time, he did it for Malaria as well), the censorship of the press, the refusal to lockdown to save face - due to all this the number of Covid variants there is soaring and will be spreading swiftly through the planet.
I can't believe people still think India is even a 'democracy' given his actions over the last few years.
I think the real death toll will be at least triple what is being reported - it's a total disaster.
Everyone who has seen the coverage knows this.

Ashish K. Jha, MD, MPH @ashishkjha · 15h India reports another 400,000+ cases, 4000+ death day
A sustained level of horribleness
And its not correct
True number surely closer to 25,000 deaths, 2-5 million infections today

Look at the crematoriums

My neighbours are Indian, they inherited their dads house when he died a few years ago.
They went over 3 months ago and are still there.
I asked the son last week if they are OK, they are. There are areas over there that have not been badly affected with Covid.
